Dont Audi have something to do with the Around The World Yaught Race? Maybe something to do with that? Nice. Do you not strap the car down inside the container?

I was told by a local, ex-Ferrari Importer, that most new Ferraris came in containers. New cars were being damaged by other cargo (HUGE vats of wine, for instance) that were not secured correctly and were literally steam-rolling cars flat before they made it off the ship. FORZA had a few photos of the F-50 unveiling - the car arrived inside a fully-enclosed crate. I cannot believe Ferrari would just 'tape' a brand-new Enzo and merely strap it to an aircraft pallet for shipment. Cargo valued at more than $700,000 gets an enclosed container, no?
No, not when they fly. I've seen a number of VERY expensive cars, including Enzos, on pallets just like that, they slide them right into the cargo holds of planes just like that, right along with the smaller metal containers holding luggage. It would scare the hell out of me if it were my car, but apparently it works.
my mates 430 landed 2 weeks ago, he's been waiting 2 1/2 years, came in a container by sea, were on west coast of australia WA is not short for west australia, to us it means Wait Awhile ciao..........
It's insured for the same amount regardless of how it's transported. Enclosed containers are more $. Also pending upon where it's stored the chances for damage are minimal. Containers for air transport isn't cost effective. Yeah it seems a little crazy, but works well. They lock securely into place, just like stacked and lashed harbor containers. Containers on planes = more $$$ to ship it. It would be a stevedore's dream to unload a roll on roll off vessel full of Ferraris.
I work for an airline; see them come off/on the plane on pallets just like the picture. Do not see too many of them, but they are out there. Every now and then a rare or expensive one.
