I'm thinking about buying this particular 348. I shared pictures with Chris, and he pointed out that the back wheels are on backward. Yes, the front are pointed in a different direction than the rear. So I pull out my Forza #30 to see the proper orientation. The car in Forza has the same issue, the back wheels are on backward. Has anyone noticed that before?

The rear wheels should just be switched back (left to right) to correct the orientation. Someone mistakenly did a (rear only) tire rotation. There are four different wheels on the 348 and they should not be chaged to opposite sides or the orientaiton will be wrong. My profile pic shows the correct orientation.

As a matter of fact, I contacted Forza magazine myself after the 348 issue came out. I told them that it made them look pretty silly to use a car with backwards wheels as the featured car in their article. They didn't respond.

The wheels are mounted in that way for cooling the brakes.

I'm glad Ferrari has right side and left side wheels. The 911 turbo wheels look backward on one side.

Thanks for pointing that out Bee Jay....I just looked at a picture of a 911 in this thread
    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=141299

and now this is going to bother me every time I see one with the turbo twist rims... ha!

By the way, the 348 I rented 5 years ago on my honeymoon in Hawaii had the front wheels on right and the back ones on wrong, and it bothers me every time I look at the picture of my wife and I in the car...

My newly acquired 348 has the wheels "backwards". The previous owner says he rotated the tires....left to right. Is this a problem? Do 348 owners not rotate tires? Or do you just go through them too fast to need rotation? Going to post pictures soon of my new car. I know quite a few people will notice the wheels being incorrect.

We'll be looking forward to seeing pictures of your car.

It's not really going to affect the performance of your car if the wheels are mounted on the wrong sides, but you want to make sure that the TIRES are rotating in the correct direction, if they have directional tread. Check the sidewalls to see if there is an arrow indicating the proper direction of travel. It's possible that they shouldn't have been rotated.

They frequently use cars that are not correct or modified. They are a distant 2 in Ferrari publications.
