Owners Club gathering? How come no one ever tells me anything about such events.... maybe it's really time for THE crossover...

You're right - I think the Diablo should always remain a dream, just as a Countach should. I fear that if we were to try to realise this dream, it may actually turn out to be a nightmare.

Hallo, do you actually think you're that free to join? The reason we're always logged on here is because we're working :D

Anyway, most likely a casual gathering like ours as they normally announce official meets but don't forget the monthly drives on the last Sundays.

I was @ Clarke Q last night & saw two F430s in MOS porch. Both red, one spider & next a coupe, I'm seeing lesser of 360s these days just like when 355s faded out few years ago. It's a cycle thing here.

It was a casual gathering but organized by the HSM sales guys.

I believe its because there are so many Ferraris out there... alot of the "events" are communicated to NEW car buyers only. It is the salesmen that organizes the event and not the club. So unless the sales guys know you... you wont get to hear of it.

To think about it.. .thats probably the main difference between HSM and ES. Melvin knows all the owners as he is involved in most of the sales in one way or another.

Of course, there's less than 100 owners here now with 3/4 over the last 24months, it'll be difficult when it starts to grow. He needs a capable manager or active club. Speaking of how's the club like? Is there a logo etc or sort to get the camaraderie; Phil?

I was not invited to any of their dinners/events whatsoever & not even on his list of "prey" & it was Selina who gave me a free pass to the '05 trackday. Even then, I wasn't even looking @ them simply because I cannot afford it. I would seriously consider myself an "accidental client".

Heard about 70+/- total, I think there's a govt. site that can find out the nos. Phil knows & there's a dozen or two from Malaysia as well.

That's a nice turn of phrase. Think I'll use that on the missus next time I bring home another unauthorised purchase!

Des' dilemna:the Big Cat needs to be replaced. Choices: CT or QP although neither really a direct replacement. Solution? Thinking of a bull or horse to replace the pig. Typical really...it's called lateral thinking, haha.

In Langkawi today, city 3 of my 8 city "tour". Feel like a rock star save for the absence of sex, drugs and rock & roll. Have fun guys!

    CT = Porsche Cayenne Turbo

Direct replacement for Cat (2 doors 4 seats) could possibly be Jag coupe, Merc SL, 997, Scag, ContiGT or the new Maserat GT Coupe.
But you already have the 997cab, so a different configuration would be considered.

Anyone of you guys going for the April Sepang F1? There'll be convoy drive up to KL+hotel stay for the event, it'll be a good chance to exercise your restrained Ferraris & Maseratis. I think AVG posted the details on the Sepang 07 thread. Should cost about S$1.5K per pax inclusive of the F1 ticket.

The only reason I want to go is to get a good shot of the Ferrari team in action @ their pitstop with all their red livery, that is if I get a seat/position that faces that. I saw a stunning picture @ the model shop in Wheelock place but they refused to sell it.

Something like this but an aerial shoot & an "active" one. May have to borrow lens from Fong though.

I don't think I'll be making the trip up there, it's too hot, it's too crowded and it's not cheap.

No kidding, I'm thinking of the opposite. Well, I have the Callisto & putting new rubbers so getting your kind of rim then blacken it & fit a better set of rubbers for long range & track.

Don't think anyone's selling Callisto so soon.

Of course the red team lah.

Agreed Jon, I wont look to buy anything until I know that I'll be spending +80% of my time in SGP, otherwise as you say it just isn't worth it. A permanent move to Tokyo is still possible though so I hope to get it decided one or another within the next month. One plus about Tokyo is being spoilt for choice, although most are left hookers which I prefer not to touch.
