You'd be amazed at how much a kid can make in no time if they know where to get it.

The computer industry is booming, and there's nothing like a x-teen year old kid to tell you how the thing works.

    Peter Hatch

    haha, of course not. :p

If a person graduates high school at 18 and goes to college I find it very unlikely they will have a Ferrari, college bills + the lack of well paying job=honda civic. They would have to drop out of high school or skip college to have a chance, but then again they are taking their chances. We could always look at Billy Gates, dropped out of college and he's worth 40+ billion dollars

I'm about to be 22, and not an owner but I get a lot of the experience. My parents have a 360 Spider and a Maserati Quattroporte and because they know I LOVE cars, they put me in charge of their "management" so to speak...

My dad said he wanted a "cool sports car" so I went out and found a 360 Spider based on the colors/options that I thought were cool, he OK'ed what I found for him and so I contacted the dealership and set it up for him to the point of all he needed to do was sign at the X and write the check. When it arrived (shipped from Houston) he was pleased and thought it was cool looking. (He knows nothing about exotic cars / nor does he care to).

When I first saw the pictures of the Maserati QP, I told my mom it was her style and that she was due for a new car, so I called and got them on the list and got my dad to put the deposit down... we went as a family to sit down with the dealer to pick out color combos and about a year later the car came and they were quite pleased that I got them a car that their friends hadn't heard of yet. :)

I have personally put 2000 miles+ on the 360 and much more than that on the QP which I drive daily when I am home in SD (I fly home from Vegas and leave my Vette).

Anytime either car needs a service done, it's my job to call the service people and sort it out and take the car down there. My dad doesn't have time for that sort of thing, he just writes the checks and b*tches when they are for a lot.

However, I am working very hard to one day have my name on the title of one and to write those checks myself. :)

24 and a non owner. Like many of the people here I hope to be an owner by the age of 30. I have been in love with Fcars since I got a ride in a 308 when I was like 6. I do find it hard to belive that there are people younger than me that can afford these cars. But then again, look at all the sports starts and people in the entertainment business. Most of them are young and with an absurd amount of money to burn.
    Must be nice.

Until I can afford mine, if anyone wants to trade cars for a day, that would be great. You can rock my Jag...

My dad has helped loan me with a few of the repair bills I'll have to pay him back for, but I bought the car my self!! :) So I'm at least 1...

I can't imagine a parent buying their son a Ferrari, my dad gave me so much **** when i decided to buy one, on and on about how i was going to crash or get many speeding tickets, hah, he was right about the speeding tickets anyway, got my first 3 days after i got it.... The car hasn't run long enough to crash it, in the shop now..

37 & a non-owner (at least not yet). I'm putting myself on the 13-year plan, and am hell-bent on achieving. Especially after seeing all the gorgeous machines in these forums, it's pure inspiration. I have one redhead (wife), and would like one for my garage too. :D

Again, the older you are, the more likely you are to be an owner on Fchat.

Interesting where we've ended up this far. What surprises me a little is that I thought we would have higher percentiles in the 10-20 age bracket, due to the number of responses generated in the "Lurkers" sticky, only about 12%. Of course you factor in the percentage of young enthusiasts in the 21-30 bracket that are now in the low 20's range/non owners and it's probably more realistic with a guesstimate of around 19+% ? We'll see.

    I'm 27, bought my first Ferrari, a 360 Spider F1, nearly 3 months ago.

I never thought I'd be able to have a Ferrari anywhere near this early in life but as things started going well a few years ago I made it my goal to have a Ferrari by my 10th high school reunion. That's this summer so I made it :)

It would have been easier financially at a later date but I can handle the purchase and the maintenance and often hear other Ferrari owners say that they just wish they could've enjoyed having one at a younger age...

Its easy to justify a Ferrari to yourself, believe me :)

I wonder what, if any, effect is this random sampling having on our Fchat advertisers?
Is it confirming your target market or was there any surprises here for new opportunities? Obviously, the Ferrari owner is the primary objective but you would think that associated Ferrari goodies such as diecast, automotive book distributors, clothing, bags, etc. would be all over this target rich environment with such a diverse following.

... promised myself that I would have an F-car by the time I was 35, got there but decided to go racing Formula Continental instead, bought one a couple of years later never drove it, sold it a couple of years later (nothing beats a real race car) then decided to have a mid life crisis and bought two last year for my 41st birthday... still can't find time to drive them... when they say time is $$$, I am finally starting to understand... you need lots of $$$$ to buy the time to play...
