Try a saltwater fish tank. Get some damsels, they're real hardy and then maybe a clown, just don't get fish that will eat each other. I actually have a grouper in my large tank that I feed live fish to. You probably wouldn't like him. Sorry about your goldfish.

All of the above, you need a hospital tank for sure, but what you really need to do is use purified bottled water - the kind you see in offices with the big 5 gallon tanks sitting on top.
That water is about .30 a gallon at any 'water' place, there should be a few 'fill your own' types of water places around you.

PetCo and PetSmart test water for free, so take in some of your water you use and let them test it. My guess is the PH may be high, but Goldfish are pretty tough. Chlorine may be high also...

A year ago I lost all 11 fish in my tank in 2 weeks, I could not stop what it was, and I had all the fish 'drug drops' you could get, they did no good. I can't recall what my fish got for a 'disease', it just totally escapes me - PARASITES - that's it.
I ended up spending about 4 hours cleaning my tank over and over, replaced all the rock, getting the parasite killer stuff in, started using water from a different vendor, and have only lost 1 fish out of 10 in the last year.

Problem is Goldfish are pretty dirty fish, you'll go through a lot of water...

PS the 5-10% you used from the tap should not have really effected them, 50% and it might, but Goldfish are pretty adaptable - to a certain extent.
Do you have air/oxygen/bubbles going through the water ? You need to do that, and get a couple of live plants, the fish need an environment, not plastic.

All in all fishkeeping is pretty simple, especially with goldfish like you have.

About the hospital tank--while it might be necessary for larger tanks with many fish/more expensive fish, unless you are EXTREMELY attached to your goldfish, its not really that great an idea. Most medicine will not harm your other fish in the main tank, and it is really just a hassle, especially for someone just looking to have a small tank just for fun.

What is really important is the water quality. Most importantly, use dechlorinator!!! Just a couple of bucks from petco etc will last a lonnng time. Easily converts tap water into fish water. After that, try to change about 25% of the water weekly, or bi-weekly if you are busy. Lastly, refrain from over-feeding. It sounds like you are feeding a good amount. Just a pinch!

    And lastly, enjoy!! Good luck!
