I'm trying to replace the front grip of the parking brake (aka emergency brake or hand brake). The front part where you hold on to with your entire right hand, how is that affixed? I didn't find a screw so is it simply glued on?

The way I used to remove handgrips on bicycles (when i was a kid) was to put an open end wrench just slightly larger than the metal part on the tube then tap the wrench with a hammer. So not to scratch the black paint you could put some electrical tape on the wrench.

I doubt there is glue. But if there is it should be so old that this method would still work.

It is glued and can usually be broken loose by a firm grip and twisting. Once broken loose it will just slide off.

The handbrake is the cheapest part of the interior IMO.

The handle isn't up to par with the nice toggle switches and slide levers.

I'm usually up for upgrading parts but on the 308 i'm discovering a purist strain in myself i didn't know i had.

Seems like most are set or bent slightly towards driver side seat.

Like you i'd thought of upgrading the handbrake handle but think i' just gonna stick with the original.

Carbonfiber one looks good though. If you get it please post pic.

I'm planning on doing a bunch of carbon upgrades, this is just one of them.
