When I bought mine, they thought bigger was better !!- see photo- they replaced the melted 15a fuel pump fuse with an external fuseholder and a 30 A fuse !!! no way that one will blow. I have since changed the fuse blocks to Birdman's style blocks and factory fuse sizes, no problems since.

That is the FIRST time I have ever heard anyone have to pay import duty on a set of fuseblocks. But $30 on a $129 item seems a little steep!

Is there anyway to get the mat grabbers to work on a GT4?

    Man!! Highway robbery!!!

Matt grabbers should work fine on a GT4. Tell ya what, since you would be the first person to test them in a GT4, you can be a beta tester and I'll send you a pair free to go with the fuseblocks. (Now watch, everyone that ever bought a fuseblock is going to want a retroactive free pair...)

No, this is to test the GT4 fit!!

    Hi Birdman,
your fuseblock concept works also on GT4. About 2 years ago had to fabricate for my 76 GT4 half fuse bloc ( the black on the right ) using a strip of aluminum and 9 fuse holders bought in Chicago on the local radio store. So that I believe to have been so far the only GT4 owner ( at least in Europe ) to have 9 fuses on the original bloc and 9 on Birdman designed bar. It works absolutely fine, plan to complete the job over Eastern week.

    Thanks anyway for the inspiration,
    Best

    Cal,
Thanks but I know that. There are a LOT of GT4s running my blocks.

Import Duty can be a killer in the UK. And I just love the way that ParcelForce charge you for err charging you ! and you pay vat on all that too!

    Lee

ps, Hey Birdman, come payday at the end of the month I'll be ordering some fuseblocks from you :)

    Hi guys , I'm over in the uk , I have a 84 308 QV Euro,
I've seen various threads and heard a few stories about the 308's electrics.
What are the problems that these cars face ? and does Birdman's fuse box solve them ?
The only problem I've encountered so far is static build up , it sometimes interferes with the indicators or the lazer jammer I've had fitted and I sometimes here a clicking noise come from the fuse box .
Is there something more I should be aware of ?
    Cheers
    Dave

Birdman describes and shows the problems clearly in the “Fuseblock” section of his web site: www.birdmanferrari.com/

My ’83 QV OEM fuseblocks were actually in very good shape but I replaced them with Birdman’s anyway, just to avoid problems in the future. I also replaced all the relays, as they don’t last forever and are used to control essential things like the fuel pump, radiator fans, etc. I found the best prices for relays at www.RockAuto.com, but from the UK you may find a better source.

I got my birdman fuseblocks in the mail today (thanks Birdman!) :) I need to finish figuring out my taxes before I can install them but I'm looking forward to doing so. Everything in my 85 QV has been working fine but I did blow the fuel pump fuse once last summer. The original fuseblocks were known to be weak so you can't go wrong installing some new ones.

    Birdman,

I took a picture of my fusebox setup. UK car RHD, chassis 13500

    Hope it helps.

    Lee

btw, I'm had many parcels delivered from the US. To not draw attention to a parcel I would advise declaring a low value, stating used car parts and parhaps removing your Birdman's Ferrari... from the address label. I would imaging that the word Ferrari kind of attracts attention ; )

Birdman...I wanted to send my thanks for the fuse blocks!

Right around an hour to install them including time to go into the house to get a cold one! As many have said before me, the windows are faster and the headlights don't fluctuate in brightness as you gas the engine! It'll be interesting to see how much brighter my instruments are.

    Thanks Birdman!

I ordered a new fusebox yesterday, I can't wait to try it, my car gets delivered on the 18th or 19th I am hoping that the fusebox is delivered at by then so that it can be done at the same time as the major service. I will post how it impacts the slow windows.

I wouldn't pay someone to do this. It's stupidly simple and literally takes an hour or less. It'll be your first project!

Does anyone know how I can contact Birdman, or know where I can purchase his fuse blocks?
I'm getting 'webpage not available' message when I go to birdmanferrariparts.com.

If anyone has contact info, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    Mark
