Really? I didn't know you had an inside knowledge of the workings of Scuderia Ferrari.

Pull your head out of your ass...... if we end up halfway through the season and Kimi is 30 points up on Felipe or vice versa, do you seriously think that there will be equal footing behind those doors?

    No way.

For the final time, Kimi Raikkonen IS NOT Michael Schumacher, and never will be...... let the past go. The F2007 surely didn't seem to bad to me today, are you implying that Massa put 100% development into the car in preseason testing and Kimi None?

Please, i'm getting bored of all the excuses already. Massa didn't have a congested track all day.... .so at some stage he should have been putting solid numbers down comparable to Kimi, Ferny and Lewis.

    He didn't. End of story.

In the end, all that any team cares about is taking that cheqered flag for P1. To say otherwise is showing you live in dreamland.

I am suprised that Massa's best lap time was 1.809sec slower than Kimi's. Massa sured had lots of moments where he had a clear track, and still being that much off the pace, really shows how fast Kimi was driving!

...and kimi was not driving 'all out' either! bodes well for the Scuderia! they also have more tricks up their sleeves for the next race...hope they only get faster and faster... as for Massa, at some point, he should have been a bit quicker, inspite of the circumstances...yes, most times he had more fuel, but, but, but....etc, etc... in any case, as long as both red cars are atop the podium each race, that's what really matters most...

    Forza Ferrari!!!

Kimi is not MS, but will be WDC 2007 as FM becomes the new Rubens.

I look at this from a differant perspective, lets not judge one drive by his performance in the season opening race, lets rather compare over a perior of say 6 races.......

in all seriousness now, under the normal run of things, i expect Massa will have his fair share of chances to win races this season. he is definitely fast enough in the Ferrari...

geeez whats all the massa hating about. Kimi drove a fantastic race today and so did massa except he started last. REMEMBER, ITS ONLY THE FIRST RACE. cant we just celebrate a FERRARI WIN!

If Massa would have had a a chance to qualify we would have seen a ferrari 1 2 now, which one is better let's wait to get a couple races in and let them prove themselves.

Yes. If Kimi makes a mistake or has a breakdown. He won some races last year too. 2 I believe.

Agreed. As i noted in another thread, I agree that Kimi is just mega! The way he pulled out those fast laps during his second stint (beat his own fastest lap by 1 sec!) and his first qualifying lap must have had the pit lane scratching their heads.

As for Massa's performance, I think he did an excellent job, considering he was never in a position to match Kimi's lap times. At the start, he had the soft tires and 29 laps of fuel. According to M. Brundle on ITV, these tires lose their performance after two laps. On his second stint, he again had 29 laps of fuel so as the fuel burned off, the tires were not at their best.

In any case, considering he was probably desperate to claw his way back to the front, he stayed calm and did not make any mistakes.

Also, the gearbox problem was electrical-related (see Ferrari post-race quotes) and had nothing to do with supposed curb-bashing.

I really did not see the favoritism there. I would certainly question the pit stop that led to Alonzo over Hamilton if I were into conspiracy theories though. Great win for Ferrari!

It's impossible to tell if Kimi is getting better treatment after just one race. Massa had a problem in qualifying and was at the back of the grid. Massa has never been the smoothest passer since Elway but he did well to finish 6th so Id say he had a good car too. Who knows what would have happened if Massa hadn't had his issue.

+1 I still remember those two races. Michael had to wait for Massa's pit stop to finish since F1 doesn't allow two pit boxes (pretty dumb). And then Michael's fuel system had problems in qualifying in Brazil so he couldn't start up front.

Massa had been faster all winter than Kimi, and should have been on the first 2 rows of the grid in qualfying, but he wasn't because of trying to get his car airborne off a bump. Kimi drove a perfect race, while it was hard for Massa to pass many people with a obviously faster car, ie Honda, Coulthard, Fisichella. Massa is good when in the lead, but does not have the ability of Schumacher to pass in traffic, ie. Brazil 2006.

Massa will have his moments of greatness this season. However, Kimi will prove the better, lead driver.

One race, what 15 to go and everyone has already named the WDC. While you are at it, do any of you with knowledge of the future know the winning numbers for the next Powerball? Tell me, and I will give you 10% when I win.

No knowledge of the future, but history shows Kimi and Alonso dominating their teammates, and Massa a good number 2 driver. Maybe Luca and Jean Todt know more than you think.

I just sat down with the popcorn and am enjoying reading all the Massa jockeys make excuses.

He had the 8th fastest lap of the day, behind both Mclarens, both BMW-Saubers, Fisi's Renault, and even Rosberg's Williams-Toyota.

Earthlink Associated Press Release . . . "Raikkonen's win was all the more impressive because he drove without radio communication with his team throughout the race." Kimi's quote . . . "I lost my radio with the team just before the start. But, we had a plan and knew what we wanted to do before the race," he said, adding that the team kept him up to date with pit boards as he came by the finish line.

You may be right. Hamilton did one hell of a job in his 1st F1 race....
