I looked at this car very seriously about 1.5 years ago, and I received the same evasive responses! Don't expect much from them. They are maintaining an aire of secrecy to increase buyer interest!!
Not trying to be a JERK the car is very nice I think it was order buy the algar ferrari family for the daughter then it was sold to this guy. pozzi blue with cudo brown leather pretty cool and rare but the price is high and if he really want to sell the car he would post good pics I have seen pics of it before and they were bad not good shot for someone who wants top dollar. Now post pics.
Precisely my point. The deal with me is as follows: I first saw the car listed in the FML for $105K in September, 2005. I communicated with seller, and he then immediately indicated that it was a misprint that the price was actually $109K. Then the next day he tells me by e-mail (I never actually spoke with him due to his evasiveness) his "dealer" had an offer on the car for $115K, and that I'd have to match that if I wanted the car. Sensing a bogus sale, I called a friend who is a P.I.. He came back with considerable info on the seller. I then independently verified that at least he did in fact own the car. However, at this point I lost all interest. I felt $105K was a fair price since he had paid $106K w/in that past year (1995). Car is nice but has a cuoio dash and steering wheel which I do not now think looks great. Car has had no services in 2 years and has been driven less than 200 miles. Who really knows what needs to be done? I have the pictures on my office computer. I'll post a few tomorrow if any one really has interest.
No need for people to get all controversial please. There is no secrecy going on here. The current owner asked for a bit of help in seeing if there were any true interested parties for this great looking car. Thats all. All im doing is protecting his privacy at the moment and when I get some serious offers then I can present them to him and also provide you with his full contact info to complete a possible deal. I am not getting anything from this, just trying to help out. No one is being shady here. The current owner paid a considerable amount a little over a year ago so he was hoping to get some if not most of it back being it is a great car and all. I don't think he is totally up on the current Ferrari market and I will admit I do not know it all either. So this has been helpful as well in regards to pricing. ps. I had previously helped another owner sell his Porsche to a board member here and Im fairly certain he came away happy.
guys what difference does it make if he posts pics or not. the car is overpriced by over $20K. no one is crazy enough on this board to pay the asking price. so let's just let it die. the owner will come to his senses soon enough that he overpaid for his 355.
Dude can sell his car for what ever price he wants ya miserable gits. And what ever he sells it for it still would not amount to much compared to the worlds most expensive F355 spider, which sold for $670,150 2 years back So there is hope for some one to buy it Heres a cut and paste. . . . Maradona's Ferrari sold in auction for $670,150 The 1996 red F355 Spider Ferrari that belonged to Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona was auctioned and sold Thursday for 670,150 US dollars to a buyer identified as CGBLANCO. The vehicle was auctioned through Web-site mercadolibre.com. "The buyer has to be very happy because the price reached has been quite high, due to the more than 100,000 visits and the 153 valid bids that were received," said to the press the manager of the auctioning firm, Juan Martin de la Serna. De la Serna said that now the seller, identified as Jorge, has to reach an agreement with the buyer - whose identity is not known yet - to address the terms of the private transaction. The company said the seller of the car acquired it registered in the name of the company "Maradona Producciones S.A." a dealership of Ferrari in Buenos Aires. Dude i an in the UK, and we use the term "gits" as a light harted way of saying "grumpy old men", like when we say "ya ole git"
Lotustt no body is mad or piss at you all we are saying is if he really want to sell the car. you or him would post good pics of the car and more people would see the car and it would stir up more people to buy the car. why start a tread on a car knowing good and well we are f355 FREAKS and not post pics. and privacy its not like the guy is selling an enzo ferrari .I don't think anybody really cares about the owner that he has to hid is Id. Normal sellers post in ferrari ads or ferraribuy.com or ebay with good pics and a way to contact the person that IS selling the car. if you are starting a tread on a rare color combo we are going to want pics or your are going to start us up.ha ha
NOW YOUR TALKING. SEEING THAT MAYBE ITS IS WORTH THE $$$$$$$$ THAT LOOKS SWEET. HAVE NOT SEE PICS OF IT IN A YEAR .DID NOT KNOW IT HAD BULE PIPING ON THE SEATS.
Well thank you for your thoughts and insight. I am not sure why its a waste of time but I did not make you click the thread.
How about scraping up $15 to subscribe so you can post more photos? I guess I'd feel odd using FChat to sell without contributing something. You probably would have had a bunch of rabid F355 guys all over this thread with some nice pics in FerrariAds and at the top of the thread. Also, I agree, it's an F355, not a 1939 Auto Union racer. There are cars up the street at the local Mercedes dealer that cost significantly more. The coyness, real or perceived, is really unnecessary. List the car with the other 355s. My two lira...
