Hey listen, I would be thrilled if a racetrack could make it to the immediate area. The reality is that getting petitions signed is one thing, to get the political clout to find zoning and to have investors, etc behind this is completely another. Is there even somebody out there who wants to build and operate said track?

Again, life is short we all have to chose wisely where to spend our time -- you have to wonder if bothering with such a thing is really worth your time. I know it isn't worth mine.

Now if they had said: come up and hang out, I'd be game. Leave the politics at home I say.

Don't mean to be a Debbie Downer here just a Robbie Reality.

Islip Speedway, New York National Speedway, Westhampton Dragway, Freeport Stadium, Bridgehampton Race Circuit.

We're going the wrong way guys. All those places have shut down over the last thirty years and the numbers of supporters vs haters is going in the wrong direction too. I had to laugh when I saw the threat these guys were making to Suffolk County Executive Levy. Yeah I'm sure he's really afraid of the two thousand people who won't vote for him if he doesn't support a racetrack. Probably half the people who claim to be in support of this track didn't vote in the last election. This is a NIMBY issue. People don't like noisy places near their homes that attract people who tend to drive a bit on the wreckless side.

You can be as optimistic as you like but its worse than an uphill climb.

    ^^^^ So True^^^^

The reality is that it's never going to happen.Building more Golf Courses/Condos vs a Racetrack?? Oh yeah the racetrack has a real chance.
