As the underdog, I really like rooting for him, although I really want Kimi to win it all this year. Forza Ferrari, John
He did beat Villeneuve in 2005. Which is why I believe Villeneuve is praising him. I mean Massa must be the next Schumacher if he was able to beat the mighty Villeneuve, right?
thats right. both have done the same thing. i'm talkin winning WDCs here, Andreas. how bout a Tiger now
Kimi was twice in the battle for the title and was able to take the decision to the very last race. You might disregard this as well (I don't), but it does help a driver to have gone down that path when it comes to the ultimate duell.
Im for Massa all the way. Kimi might be fast but he doesnt inspire me at all. You could put a robot in the car and have the same job done. I dont care what people say that his job is to drive lalala , i still like to see some emotions or id be watching replays on my PS3..
Actually the majority of the Senna debates around here are Senna vs. MS I don't know that Kimi has done nothing, he has run a couple title races down to the wire and he has outdriven GP winners like DC and JPM.
true, but both of the times, the rules were against Ferrari. i mean, in 2003, he nearly became WDC with just 1 win against Schumi's 6? but i can't deny he was on fire in 2005 tho
Does anyone have Massa's stats vs. MS in terms of qualifying margins and fastest race lap margins? How do they comare to Irvine's vs. MS and Rubens vs. MS? If I am not mistaken, the driver closest to MS in terms of lap times has been Rubens.
Please refresh my memory on why the "rules were against Ferrari" when all that Kimi did was collect points? IIRC there was no other controversy.
Although I do really like Massa and I want him to win, the Kovalainen occurred because Heikki spun at Turn 1, and Massa just cruised by, but I guess Massa would have caught him anyway.
the best post in this thread................. Oh, and tifosiron, you accuse most on here, including me of having the opaque glasses on. You sir, are the most deluded of us all. Re-read the above post again and wake up to yourself.
As it stands right now, I'm not sure Massa is any faster than half the grid. He had a good fast year last year - but certainly nothing that 5 other drivers couldn't have had driving that car.
Here's my 2 worthless cents on this whole thing: Massa is a nice # 2 driver, but it is too early to tell how he'll stack up against KR on the basis of 1 GP, especially as both of them ran different strategies.... I think my opinion of Massa will be confirmed but I'll give him the benefit of a doubt until more evidence comes in.
Impressed? He passed the following: STR Spyker Super Aguri Spyker STR Williams Red Bull Honda Super Aguri Toyota Renault He was in a Ferrari, for chrissake, the fastest car on the grid. You are impressed that he managed to pass the Spykers and Super Aguris? Your expectations must be low.
