has any one had a look inside the digiplex ecu's,ave they got a rev limiter inside ?
Apparently some do & some don't!! The ones that came in my '82 Euro QV have one, but I have a couple of friends with later Euro QVs that don't have them. When I posted asking about them, no one else reported having run into a rev limiter. If my engine hits 7700 rpm, ignition cuts off for about 5 seconds.
my 85 does not have one, or its broken. I have not hit one yet, and Im surprised. I would have hit it by now.
I noticed this on my '85 Euro QV a few weeks ago. When redline is achieved the ignition does cut out for a few seconds. It scared the hell out of me the first time it happened!
going to put the timing light on it today after fitting pickups etc, and see if the coil pulse dissapeares or what ever,should give me some idea<fingers crossed
Mine doesn't have one , apparently some have been taken off as they had a problem with the rev limiter getting less and less down the rev range .
