    Rich,

    The car was quite comfortable on the drive down. We arrived feeling refreshed after 17 hours in the car. The ride home, no doubt, will be even more comfortable considering I once again have A/C blowing in the 20 degree temp ranges! :D Thank you Tim Stanford!

    I think we averaged about 16mpg on the way down, cruising around 75mph with a few blasts to 100-110.

    John,

    I told the girl that we had a welcome party waiting in San Diego in case we got sidetracked. Had I not known this route so well from having done it in the past, I think she'd have tried to point us west! ;)

    Cheers,
    Aaron

    Sounds like a great trip thanks for the pics, glad everything went well. Also had my car down at Tim's (he did my major service last year) How many miles did you log, almost time for another oil change??

    ok all;

    A quick update from my Treo 700 (so excuse the grammar/punctuation!)

    Presently sitting in the OK Café in Atlanta. Left Miami at noon today so 10 hours of truckin' it got me pretty well 2/3 of the way home. Car ran excellent with cold A/C and some Brian Auger on the hi-fi. Mileage-wise I think we'll be around 3K miles start to finish. Not bad for one week's worth of driving! So yes it's time for a service tomorrow when we get home. Oh not one drop of oil used the entire time. Amazing.

    Cheers

    Love the black.

    QV wheels do wonders for a 2v car.

    Well, we're home in one piece and the car ran beautifully the whole 3,216 miles! I must admit, the car is very comfortable for long hauls, I think the reclined seating position helps quite a bit as I feel just as good or better (actually) when getting out of the 308 after a long jaunt as compared to when I drive my Range Rover on long hauls. I'd definitely make this kind of trip again with the Ferrari although I will admit that in one week of driving it in Miami, I probably put more wear on my clutch than I did all last summer. That traffic down there is horrendous, so much stop and go.....over and over.

    But either way, I'm glad we did it. I had utmost faith in the car and she lived up to my expectations 100%. And the best part? Everyone who called me crazy can now eat their words ;)

    Cheers,
    Aaron
