I have just had the car inspected by a dealer not long ago, because "check engine" light came on.... and.. as I assumed, it was O2 sensor. (as it seems to be a problem with every single 550). Anyhow..

It came on again ... so I assume it is not the O2 sensor itself?!?" this is outrageous after spending stupid money to replace those parts.

I am just gonna see after I delete the code.

However.. I don't know the location of the OBD2 connector. :(

Does anyone know? I have the adapter and the reader. My manual will be coming soon, but I still don't have it, so I am just anxious to check.

If anyone can help, it would be wonderful.

    Best regards

    What OBD2 devices/readers work with the 575?
    Where can I purchase one?

Am guessing the OBD2 connector might be under the passenger side kick panel? If not, try the driver ECU area.

My last GM car had one under the steering wheel.

Yup for US cars its on the drivers side down on right.
Not sure for Japanese versions though.

    thanks for help!

I will just keep looking. On the workshop manual, it doesn't say much, so I guess I will have to keep looking.

It maybe that 3 wire plug... someone was pointing out on some other thread that Ferrari uses different plug.

Mine is a grey market import from UK as the Ferrari here didn't have the RHD model for some reason... It's apparently not popular here. Everyone that buys Ferrari in Japan wants LHD... because it's "cool"... I think it's absolutely dangerous and stupid.. hehe...

So, I guess I better ask someone from UK?

    anyway, thanks!

Hi there, if you are still searching for this i'm pretty confident it's behind the drivers side speaker/kick plate. As far as I'm aware that's where the mechanic was looking to hook his SD3 into when I saw last. Sorry not 100% but reasonably confident. Mine's a uk one as well. Failing that there's a load of electrical bits under the passenger footwell/bulkhead plate, just pull back the carpet from the passenger footwell and you'll see the two retaining plugs, cover hinges open same as on 355's. As said though, think on the uk cars it's drivers side (right hand side) behind the footwell speaker plate.

    Hope this helps

    Jon

ps do a search to confirm as i think some models this doesn't work but I think to clear the codes the simplistic way is to disconnect the battery for 20-30mins. The plus of this is that you will then need to start the car from stone cold with nothing electrical running and no revs and then just let it re-learn it's parameters. If they have changed a load of sensors without doing this it may even fix the problem if the ecu is still stuck compensating for an old part. I'd wait till the fans kick in then take it for a sensible drive working thru the rev range and gears getting the car to learn all the new parameters and then see how it goes. Obviously ideal is to get the stored codes first and then see if they re-occur post all this even if a warning light doesn't come on.

If anyone would know it would be Rifledriver. I've not been able to pull codes off of my 575 with Auto Enginuity software. It works fine with my Porsche's. As far as the "port", I have not looked for a while but I think driver-side, to the right of the steering column and up under the dash.

The OBD2 connector on my 2000 US 550 is located to the right of the steering column (driver's side). The Actron CP9125, sold at PEP Boys for $59.99 reads and erases the codes. It also comes with a Windows CD that has the codes for most Ferrari models.

Just curious... what types of codes have you been able to clear with the Actron, on your 550?

Every current model US car is required to have an OBD2 connector. Ferrari uses their own SD2/3 diagnostic tools for the bulk of diagnosis but any OBD2 reader will fit the connector and should clear common issues like the CE light. The 599's port is to the left of the steering column under the dash. I assume that where almost every car has their connector port.

In my 550 (97) it's right up under the steering column.
