It's a legit event, more of a cruise really put together by the import car clubs in the Dallas area.

I was at the one last year, it was fun, the guy that organizes it is a little crazy, dives a porsche 996. I rode with a friend in his NSX, we didnt go very fast (maybe 85 the whole way) but the guys at the front group were doing at least 120 the whole way. the video was prety cool!

Sorry it seems a bit fishy, it is just that many people take offense to such a thing or they flame you for being a street racer. I know how many of you enjoy such events and I thought I would be generous by sharing some info. I had helped with the Houston Cannonball and this will be my first Dallas event, maybe some of you in the area can show me around. I hope to see some of you all there. Here is a little more information:

The cannonball is NOT A RACE, rather a social event that involves a spirited drive! you do not need a fast car, nor do you need to speed. The Cannonball concludes with a party at the end

Where: Meet at Rockies Sports Grill, at 8:00 PM (8600 N. MaCarthur)
(Rockies is just across the street from where we started the last Cannonball)

This cruise will be just a bit longer then runs in the past.

The cruise will once again end at the Londoner in Addison

    This event is FREE

I will have T-Shirts, $20 if you order before the cannonball, $25 the night of. they look like the logo.

any questions, or if you would like to order a t-shirt email: [email protected]

feel free to visit our website. www.texascannonball.com for pics other

Fabulous route. There's nothing better than letting the cops know precisely where you're going to be and when you'll be there. Killer twisties too....

everytime we do this (3 times now) we post up a map, never has the "man" shut down I-20 or any other major hwy on saturday night. in fact no one has ever ever recieved a ticket. Most people, do not drive as fast as the reputation may seem to reflect. for most is just a drive with friends, most people do not even speed, rather enjoy their cars.

there are maps on cannonballforums.com and more info

There is always a first time, with this current mayor just hope there is not some kid (not even one you know or who is associated with you) 3 days before who's car and speed overcome his inertia and driving abilities taking out a school crossing guard. Then the political statement needed will to be to round up everyone with a coffee can on his exhaust tip...
Just saying if the mood at city hall needs a distraction you just provided a very media friendly photo op to take peoples minds off whatever cookie jar someone's hands are caught in...

When the guy down here had interface with local Enforcement, they viewed it as "organized criminal activity" so be careful....

They tend to impound machinery, after using words like that.

The only other problem was at the end of the run, many participants were too young to enter The Balinese Club!!!! LOL!

    Good luck......
