    Anyone interested in a Ferrari section for this show? Here's the information:

    April 1st is on the horizon and with it the 2nd Annual Autos in the Park car show held at the Cooper Aerobics Center.

    In order to properly allocate space, it's important that you register your car or your car club by visiting http://www.cooperaerobics.com/corporate/CarShow.aspx.

    This event, co-sponsored by Cooper Aerobics Center and Dream Garage USA, will be held on the lushly-landscaped grounds of the Cooper Aerobics Center located at 12300 Preston Road in North Dallas.

    People's Choice prizes will be awarded and a variety of vendors, some offering freebies, are lined up so the afternoon promises a chance to socialize, talk car talk with fellow automotive addicts and engage in some great family fun. If you are exhibiting cars, please plan to arrive between 11:00 and 12:30. Enter the Cooper Aerobics Center via the main entrance located midway between Willow and Churchill on the east side of Preston. The Aerobics Center is between Forest and LBJ on Preston Road.

    I went last year. It's a good show. I think there was a 360 and 911 from an F-Chatter.

    There are 110 cars registered. Weather forecast shows to be partly cloudy and upper '70s.

    Just got word from Tom Stumpf that due to the rain saturating the lawns, they have cancelled the entire show this weekend.

    There are plans to reschedule it for April 22nd - But this is to be determined at a later date.

    Autos in the Park Car Show Cancellation Press Release


    Ladies & Gentlemen:

    Regrettably we must cancel the Cooper Aerobics Center - Dream Garage USA Autos in the Park car show scheduled for April 1st at the Cooper Aerobics Center campus.

    The current rainy spell has saturated our landscape to the point where the grassy areas (where cars would be displayed), will not hold up to car and foot traffic. And, the forecast calls for a 100% likelihood of more rain today and tonight.

    We are working on new date , possibly April 22nd, and will confirm that with you as soon as possible.

    We, along with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, appreciate your support.

    And the good news is: we have rescheduled the Cooper Aerobics Center / Dream Garage USA car show. Rain gods willing, we'll assemble at the Cooper Campus on Sunday, May 6, 2007 from 1 to 5 PM.



    Other than the date change, everything else remains the same:

    While this may seem redundant if you registered for our first rain-cancelled event, we need an accurate car count for the upcoming show.



    Driving instructions: the Cooper Aerobics Center is located on the east side of Preston Road between Forest Lane and LBJ (additional driving information is available on our website). When arriving at the Center, drive north on Preston and look for the directional signs based on your car's country of origin.



    v U.S. cars enter the campus at the Willow/Preston light.

    v English and Italian at the center entrance

    v German cars at the entrance closest to the Churchill/Preston light (the northern-most entrance)

    v Other marques use the center entrance



    After parking, proceed to the Cooper Clinic in the center of the campus and pick up your People's Choice entry material and your goodie bag (you will be given a flyer upon entering the campus showing the Clinic's location).



    Please plan on arriving between 11:00 AM and noon. Show visitors will arrive at 1. The People's Choice awards will be announced at 4:30 in the front of the Cooper Clinic. The show ends at 5:00.



    In the event of inclement weather, please keep an eye on your e-mail inbox as we will notify you Saturday/Sunday of any schedule changes.



    If you represent a car club, please forward this email to all of your members.



    By the way, based on registrations received for the rain-cancelled event, we anticipate approximately 150 cars on display, which should serve to make this one of the premier Dallas-area car shows - in only its second year.
