Makes complete sense. Shows you how pervasive tech is into some people's lives, it didn't even occur to me. Whoops. --Dan
For some reason, thought you got the memo. We put the http version up so that those who could not FTP (firewall, no client, etc.) could contribute.
You are all so special, I can't thank you enough for putting Luis' Memorial together. Tomorrow, you will bring a lot of tears, smiles and laughter. I know Luis will love this, his family was everything to him. Sincerely, Gail
I will be there. After some rearranging I got my morning cleared. Thanks for all of your help Dan. See u at 9am.
It was really nice to see everyone there today. Obviously this whole situation is so very sad and unfortunate but I for one mustered a smile when we all revved our engines. As Gail said, with all of us together we were still nowhere near as loud....
It was a very nice opportunity to see many but it definitely was a very moving gathering. I found it to be a difficult time for Luis' father as parents are not supposed to bury their children. He put on a very brave face, but I am certain he is hurting tremendously inside. Gail was very strong and her statements were very sincere, and I hope sincerely she will do well. Hopefully we will not have to endure this situation again. We will all think of you Luis. Santana Row gatherings will now have a new meaning.
I'm really sorry to have missed this. I was supposed to go, but had a last minute appointment this morning.
I had wished that I would have met Luis. It was my first meet today at SR and having a love for Porsches, that he could have taught me a lot about them. It was great to see the car community show love for a fellow driver. I thought that it was awesome when the engines were roaring. I will post the youtube footage I took on those.
It was nice seeing everyone out there this morning - a strong showing, for sure. Gail - It was great meeting you. Thanks for taking time out of your day to meet those of us who, before this unfortunate event, didn't know you. To the gentleman who read Luis' parents statement - you did a wonderful job. Their words were truly touching. Thank you for your time. I'm not really good at this sort of thing, so I'll just leave it at that. We're all lucky to be a part of such a tightly-knit group of car enthusiasts.... Aaron
I hope Luis' family and Gail got an idea of how many people truly cared about him today, and hopefully this helps them through their pain and aids the healing process. Everyone who came out today knew Luis at different levels. Some have known him since he came to the US, some of us have been lucky enough to be friends with him for a few years, and some have had the chance to meet him, if only briefly. It was clear today that everyone recognized his spirit for life and his character, and that in meeting him this was impossible to miss. Thanks to everyone that helped make today a meaningful day.
Extraordinarily well put, Andrew. It was very moving to see so many come together for our departed friend. Gail, her family and Luis' family were incredibly strong - we can only thank them for coming out and sharing their memories with us. And big kudos to Robert for acting as translator as well, very much appreciated. A few of us went to the site to put up the poster once framed, as well as a Spanish flag. It was painful but in some ways gave us a sense of closure. I saw what others had put there before us, and hope that everyone has a chance to take some time out to visit. --Dan
