Any owners here have an idea of how much running costs like servicing on a 348/355 is, i know of two people roughly my age with similar jobs that have 348's, whats going on? anyway it got me thinking, maybe next year selling my car and investing but could it be a big mistake and will it drain all my funds?my car at the moment is giving problems pretty much weekly and breaking me. just wanted an idea of running costs, preferably a 355, http://www.verdiferrari.biz/stock.asp?s=192 they have one for £31,000, now that would drain all my funds but ive seen 355's go for about £27,000 before. Anyways any help would be appreciated.

Talk to QV London in Ascot.

They sure would know how much it costs to run a 348 / year since they service those cars including mine.

Last big service incl cam belt, 30k service, new brake discs and pads, clutch was 2800 GBP if I remember correctly. Next service, the minor one will cost a lot less, since I do that one myself.

    Best of luck,

Hi Chris. What sort of use? Occasional weekend toy or dialy driver? £27000 is a very cheap 355. It would likely need £5k spending on it pretty soon.

IMO you need about a 3k (348) or 5k(355) 'slush fund' that you can afford to lose (on top of the price of the car) to cover unforseen problems. Parts are expensive so a 'fixer-upper' is very rarely a good idea.

For the budget you are looking at you could get a very nice LHD 348 and a few grand in an ISA earning interest (also providing a safety net). That's what I did.

thanks guys, i meant to say 348/355 not 360 in the topic title, sorry, i'd be looking as an everyday driver really as i wouldn't want the hastle of 2 cars unless one was sort of a "normal" car as my current car i wouldn't really call "normal" and easy to live with even though i do use it as an everyday driver purely because i have no choice. £2800 for a clutch!!!owwch. and i thought mine was expensive but i usualy change it myself but i don't think i'd attempt a ferrari's clutch, im sure its just the same really but think id give that a miss. Any usual problems on 348's to look for?

I would guess pretty much everything has been answered before either here or at

    www.the348.com
    www.the355.com

Oh and that includes changing the clutch which on manual 355's and so maybe 348s too is apparently relatively easy

Oh and the £ 2800 above covered a major service plus other work as well as the clutch as I read it
