I understood your question, just thought I would add a little "flavor" to it.

Personally, *for the track*, I cannot think of a CURRENT production Ferrari (V12 or V8) that I would rather have, off the showroom floor, over a GT3RS...That was my point. The only thing that would change my mind would be if Ferrari grew some ballz and built a V12 street fighter...

Ferrari does not need to "grow some balls". They are too busy building cars that are truly the benchmark of all cars. The Prancing Horse is one of the most well known, well respected trademarks on the planet. And EVERY car built with the Prancing Horse gets quickly sold, no matter the price. The bottom line is that worldwide, whether affordable or not, people desire a Ferrari. I am greatful that I am one of the few that has one.

Like with anycar there's its advantages and disavantages nothing on the road is perfect weither it has a badge of a raging bull or a prancing horse.

It really depends on your personal taste on what you want. If you can't decide between the two get both~!.

Dunno - I can make the pasta from scratch. Can do the Brats too, but that's a WHOLE lot more work.

Can't somebody please just delete this thread?

I love Ferraris, but don't particularly want to OWN any of those that I can afford (or much of anything circa 355 & newer). I also love Porsches & own 2 - but wouldn't want to own any recent Porsche other than the CGT. I also love Lambos & would like to own one that I could afford (Espada) - and I do NOT like gold chains or have a propoderance of chest hair :)

Style wise, you are right...many of the cars Ferrari builds are the "benchmark"...however, performance wise, not as much as in the good 'ol days...

You are right, the Prancing Horse is one of the most well known, well respected trademarks on the planet...but so it Toyota...so what is your point???

You are also correct that every car with the Prancing Horse on the hood gets sold quickly, no matter what the price...that, however, is more a supply/demand economics problem & a testiment to what hype can do than anything else...

You are correct again that people desire Ferrari...I desire an F40 and in my mind, Ferrari did their best work when they built that car.

Grateful to own one? Sorry, but nothing I own has ever made me "grateful" to own it. I cannot imagine plunking down hundreds of thousands of dollars on my new Ferrari and being "grateful" for the experience and the honor of being "chosen" to do so. Sorry, I don't subscribe to that kinda thinking. I have enjoyed owning cars, but never grateful for the opportunity...that is the only issue I would ever have with buying a new Ferrari...(For the record, I do respect Ferraris. Most of the guys I race PCA with have Ferraris in their garages at home while they race their P-Cars...that has always been a blaring statement in my mind...)

That they'd race their Ferraris if they could afford to do so? ;)

If your skills exceed what an F430 does on a track, you should be driving an F1 car professionally. The performance envelope on all these cars is ludicrously high, light years beyond whatever you could need on public roads.

And for drag racing/streetfighting, the real deal is down at the Chevy dealer. However, the 911's are better looking and much more nicely built.

His point is there's a kind of legend and mystique around Ferraris. All you have to do is drop the key fob on the bar counter and someone is going to ask about your ride. Not so with a Toyota.

I agree, the F40 was probably the best of the 'modern classic' era. Raw, honest, pretty but brutal at the same time, and pure Ferrari in its appearance.

Sorry to change the topic but this one is about as old, worn out, and boring as they come.

How about a far less trodden path?

Anyone ever seen a Ferrari boat?

I love how Ferrari owners can't admit that Ferraris have a long way to go to become decent cars. Being fast, hand-built, and unique aren't the only requirements for a good car!

I know why Ferraris are the way they are. Why, you ask? Since their owners are so stuck-up so as not to even be able to admit fault with their cars, they will pay a premium to buy one, they will pay thousands to service one, and Ferrari will continue to sell them unreliable cars that burst into flames on accident. After all, you don't see many Ferraris, so everything else - good but mostly bad - naturally makes up for it.

Porsche, on the other hand, has been consistently refining their product and making it reliable. In my experience, Porsche owners are less stuck-up than Ferrari owners for similar reasons.

2nd best post in the thread so far. I'm kind of partial to the boat myself but in the interest of elevating this really useless thread I give you a poor starving woman looking for temporary shelter.

your oversimplified and presumptuous opinion is just that. making it quite clear where your logic comes from. and you're probably not going to believe this, but this forum is not the best place to call Ferrari owners ignorant, stupid, stuck-up, mindless badge worshippers, who buy inferior products, and are unable to admit fault with their cars. says a lot about you to make such an 'astute' statement. you apparently know jack...

Must be a very strange and "backward" breed of people, these Ferrari owners.
For some unfathomable reason they picked that one Brand to overpay for it ,accept all its faults without a question,be "stuck up" and still be able to work succesfully enough to afford these overpriced cars.
So, why Ferrari and not Lambo or Aston or Porsche?

Always remember and never fool yourself to the contrary: being successful and being smart are two different things. Lots of people here have money, but they're as dumb as a bag of hammers.

some people are just hopeless. have some personal issues, projecting onto others. it's sad. Henry, please just go have fun in your Audi and leave all the 'dumba$$' Ferrari owners in their everlasting ignorance...then have yourself checked out by a professional...

i've noticed that it's becoming a more frequent thing...posters that contribute absolutely nothing, but spend their time here just to vent their gospel...it's prob impossible to rid or reduce the bs, but it's becoming harder and harder to ignore... there's nothing wrong with having differing opinions, but these sorts of things are just bizarre...

I love porsche but as much as I love porsche here is why I love ferrari more:

they're not produced in huge numbers
    built by hand in italy
They're very sexy inside and out and I love the engines a mid engine v8 or a v12 those are hard to beat the porsche I6 in rear can have third place.
While porsche has a great history I think ferrari's is better.

The only place I can really see porsche winning is price and reliability.
