Zagato built a few "double bubble" coupes on the 250 LWB chassis in the mid to late '50s. What is the current value of such a car?
Galbiatti built at least 2 replicas, one on a 250 Boano chassis and one on(I believe) a 250 GTE chassis. What do you suppose would be the value of either of those cars today?

I would says between 3-4 millon dollars for a real one, if you find one for sale.
A replica could be priced in the $250 000.00 - $350 000.00. To my opinion, above it would be a waste of money. They are just replicas and not as valuable as a real vintage car. Most of the time the replicas changed hands for less than the conversion cost. To be used as a daily driver or as a museum car but never as an investment.

Talk to Ed Niles. I think he has owned just about all of the real ones at least once...

Zagato built 5 LWB Tour dde France coupes. The most famous, in my opinion, is 0665 GT, which won the 1957 Euro GT championship. It is now owned by Lee Herrington.

A Dutch guy named Paul Koot is also producing replica 250 zagatos in italy with a couple of other persons. They can build them by the numbers. check http://www.gtmilano.com/ (no info I think of the replica Ferraris)

That back window must be insane to try and replace. I guess you can get anything made.

I just spoke with an old family friend who has a good friend that remakes Tiffany glass. He uses some secret old techniques and can virtually match any type of Tiffany glass out there. Old school!

thanks for sharing those lovely pictures.

The blue car with the white roof is 0515, which Ed Niles has owned a number of times.

I hate to see reproductions being made.

I believe this is the same shop that was Galbiati up to 3 or 4 years ago, which for a long time was the "official" Zagato restoration shop.

Do you still own 0515? That is one of my very favorite Ferraris of all time. I saw it at the LA FCA Nationals in 2002 I think...Fantastic.

i think it is marvelous how the zagato bodies whether on a ferrari or an aston martin manage to look like a ferrari or an aston and still look like a zagato.

although i cannot always give specific reasons why a vignale body looks like a vignale they still do.

a real student probably can name specific details....

i mean beyond the double bubble of course.

John, this is the preliminary lap of the Coppa Intereuropa at Monza, September 8, 1957. The three 250 GTs in the front row are 0665 (#83), 0647 (#81) and 0515 (#80).

Wayne...0665GT was originally red. The car spent a few years in Queens, NY (St. Albans), and I used to drive it around the area. It was owned by E. Barry Marshall at the time.

    Hi Joel,

By request of its original owner, Camillo Luglio, the car was delivered in black with a silver roof but was repainted at the request of its second owner, Vladimiro Galluzzi, in 1958. It was red, of course, when Mr. Marshall acquired it in the 1960s.

It must have been a great experience to spend time behind the wheel of this beaut at that time! What were your experiences/impressions? Do you have any photos of the car during that period?
