Although Matchett said that they were losing half a second a lap without the spring, I have also read contradicting reports that without the spring the car was actually performing a bit better.

So it looks like we finally have the answer to the question I posed in the last thread [what was wrong with Kimi's car?].

+1 but I think Massa will be in 3rd.

Heidfeld woln't place higher than Hamilton, he doesn't have the car.

    for me it's

    1. Kimi
    2. Alonso
    3. Massa
    4. Hamilton
    5. Heidfeld
    5. Kubica (if his car holds up)
    6. Fisichella

    3. Hamilton
    4. Who knows and cares, but it should be Massa if he can keep it on the road ...

I'm giving Kimi the nod for this race because Ferrari will be working frantically to find an edge, and new engine, etc. Also Massa accidentally stuffed Kimi's race to a fair degree at Malayasia ... but then Kimi should have stuck it on pole :D.

If Alonso bags another win, which is highly probable, then it will be interesting to see how Ferrari holds up under the stress/pressure, etc. They really don't want to loose a 3rd WDC in a row, just imagine the press, etc. Will it then be 4 ... on it's way to 20.

    It will be interesting!
    Pete
ps: Can Kimi develop a car?. Massa can't pretty sure of that, thus this is a huge test for Kimi. Saying that in his early days at McLaren the cars were always fast, just unreliable (hardly his fault) ... again it will be interesting to watch, but I predict the possibility of a Ferrari stress induced melt down ;)

The environment is no longer 100% happy at Ferrari, which was always a big thing for Todt, thus the tears are there to be further torn. If Todt can pull the team back together then he is truly a legend.

    My predictions:

    1). Alonso (flamesuit ON)
    2). Raikkonen
    3). Hamilton

Does the other two spots really matter:D

I know you guys are still upset about Massa little incident in Malaysia, but do any of you remember how well he was doing in the pre-season tests in Bahrain? Kimi obviously gets my first vote, but Massa is quite capable of taking this one.

Whoops: Here's a thought: I know they have to do two races on an engine.

But were they running the same gearboxes in Malaysia that they ran in Australia?

If so, the three weeks of further shifter development after Australia won't show until Bahrain.
