does anybody have any information on the availability of pirelli corsa tires for a stradale? apparently the front tires haven't been available for the past six months (rears are around, but not fronts). i've been checking periodically with arling at lucent motors in los angeles (310-231-3328), but he still can't get them. is everybody else having problems finding these tires? what about availability in europe?

any stradale owners in europe (or any place outside the US) able to find pirelli corsa tires?

Pirelli P Zero Corsa 285/35x19 rear

I'm wondering if we're seeing the end of the Corsa, to be replaced with the new PZero that is fitted on the 599. Same tread wear rating of 60, newly designed tire. Just a guess.

My neighbor owns a small tire store chain. He called Pirelli for me and was told they would not start manufacturing the tire until sometime in Spring (I think we're there?) I'll have him call again and see if there's a date. I've asked him to get me a couple of sets when they start to arrive in the states.

I think someone on this board, maybe Sanguru put 235's on the front because he couldn't get the 225's. Might be an option.

I am curious on the date of all of our tires. Did Pirelli make one large run and then sell them for a couple of years? The date is molded in a small oval on the sidewall. Four digits, the first two are the week and the second two are the year ie. 2204 Twenty second week of 2004. Just wondering if any tires were made in 2005 or 2006.

i actually had my two rear tyres replaced last month here in Milan at a very reasonable cost of about 1000€. Strangely ther ordered the tyres and 2 days later they showed up.

The new Pzero is nice but does not have the grip or track reliability of the Pzero Corsa. A valid alternative for the Pzero Corsa might be the Michelin Cup Sport that they moun ton the European 911 gt3 and gt3rs's. I am not sure however about the sizes.

The rear Corsa tires have been available, it's the fronts that were very tough or impossible to get here in the states.

the pirelli corsa system rear tires are available (but stock is low) at tirerack.com for $413 each. but the front tires are not in stock, and it's my understanding that they haven't been in stock for the last six months. i have a friend at ferrari FNA who is going to ask pirelli what's going on. i'll post something if he learns anything.

i asked a contact inside FNA about the status of pirelli p zero corsa tires for the stradale. he was surprised to hear that there was a problem getting these tires. he checked with pirelli and then told me that these tires were no longer available. naturally he gave me no further explanation.

tirerack.com has quite a few of the corsa rear tires (285/35-19) in stock, but it seems that nobody has any of the fronts (225/35-19). i give up.

apparently pirelli told FNA to use the p zero rosso tires. but i'm not convinced this is the best alternative. the p zero rosso tires are considerably harder tires (the corsas are soft with a treadwear rating of 60 where the p zero rosso are 160 rear and 220 front).

i'll probably start a new thread asking others who have tried different tires on stradales what they think.

I know what the treadwear ratings say, and I also know how the rosso's perform on track. You wouldn't be disappointed, IMO.
