OEM Enzo Key Blank for 360??

That is a shame.

It's plastic and I don't think you'll ever match that perfectly.

I'd make them buy you a new key unless a replacement shell is available.

 

Can anyone tell me please where to get one - or something better than the ' stock ' 360 key ?

Go through what some of us did to avoid the above-mentioned scratches.

Call Wynn las Vegas, order a key, and go through the process outlined in this thread.

 

I bought one from Jimmy540's website. Damn pricy and it works like a charm! Paid a crisp $500. Got it cut from my local locksmith for 3 dollars. Not bad!

 

I ordered the key in 04/10 and the key arrived yesterday. I know Jimmy still sells these ENZO keys on ebay, here's the website I purchased from

wow, after reading all this i feel like should get a crack pipe & smoke my way to lala land. i was one of those suckers that bought a key from jimmi, had it cut at ace. it works well & i do agree it seems a little cheap but my ***** was the cost. when at wynn's, the key there seemed to be same but for $190.00 uncut. if jimmi says there real & there not, give him the boot. the key works for me. i'm sure if i see jimmi as seller on ebay in the future, i won't buy.

 

The key from Wynn is a cut key. It has to be reworked.

However, it's still far cheaper that from the famous eBay seller.

 

I dropped my unpainted ferrari store key on the concrete ground the otherday and the unpaint chipped off.

E-liminate the e-poxy for me...I wanted the option to remove it at some point just in case (for my next Ferrari!). So instead just copied the contour of the original key and re-inserted with some silicone sealer to help hold it. And for weight tossed in 2 nickels and a dime taped together. Voila!!!

The Enzo key is expensive and larger than the 360 key, so I painted my 360 key for a few dollars with great results.

That looks great! Does the horse come off?

1. Pry off the glued-on horse with a precision screwdriver, the type with a rotatable head. It comes off easily with a little force without damage.

2. Use a sharp hobby knife to carefully trim off any raised edges of the remaining glue in the recessed area for the horse. If this is not done, the recess will become smaller after painting.

2. Sand the silver paint with 400 grit sandpaper and wipe it clean.

3. Cover the key shaft with tape.

4. Spray on 2 light coats of white primer. Gray primer will make the red paint come out too dark. Allow the paint to dry to the touch between coats. A blowdryer can be used to speed the drying.

5. Spray on 6 or more light coats of red paint. Dry it between coats. The last coat should be thicker to achieve a smooth shiny surface, but not too thick to avoid sagging and running.

6. Bake it in an oven for 30 minutes. The lowest temperature of my oven is 190. I let it warm up for a minute to about 150 and shut it off.

7. Glue the horse back on with cement. Use just enough for good adhesion, but not too much to avoid making the cement squeeze out. Do not use instant glue, since glue vapor may cause clouding on the paint.

The entire process only takes about an hour. It is a simple, fun, and satisfying little project!

Great DIY! Could you please list the type of paint and primer that you used? Pretty please??

 

I used a general purpose spray primer from a hardware store, and a Tamiya "Italian Red" spray paint from a hobby store, although any "Bright Red" general purpose spray paint from a hardware store also works.

Use a cement that works on metal, since the horse is metal.

You can buy all the materials with one trip to a hardware store for less than $10.

To avoid scratching and chipping the paint, I use a nylon string to attach the remote to the key and do not attach other keys to it. The knot is glued to prevent it from untying.
