Should I pay up and say nothing?

  1. A wager was made, pay it no matter the cost.

  2. Pay up if you have to but try to reason your way out.

  3. If it is soo bad, talk to your friend about it.

  4. Leave a fork in his neck and walk away.

How about buying the purple car, but getting a full body vinyl done up for it in a different color...

the car's paint is still purple... you just happen to have put a "bumber sticker" on top of it?

    hehe

I think that would be a violation of the agreement that could easily be proven and punished by.

If you would have taken his $1500, then you better buy and drive the purple pos.

Knowing him the car would get a bucket of yellow house paint dumped on the roof, hood and trunk, not to mention the dead fish wired in under the seats. Or at least that's what I would do.

The car seems to be the issue (and eyesore)...easy fix if you can spare a few days off of work. ROADTRIP!

Take a different friend...pay his food and lodging and go someplace neat that is very far away. Rack up big miles and you should be fine...if you get close to the milage, roadtrip again.

Or fill the tank and Ferris Bueller the car to put loads of miles on it. :)

That is a perfect idea! A couple of jack stands, a few blocks of wood and whammo! I wonder what kind of gas mileage a car gets under those condition!

    F'in awesome idea!

You nailed it. Look at the bright side, you'll have a great story to tell people for the rest of your life.

Dodging a bet is worse than skipping out on one. Either honor it or don't (and I say honor it), forget the loopholes.

every cloud has a silver lining. since you live in canada you actually may be able to cash in on it. perhaps drive by high schools so the kids can see how easy it is for a fool to be separated from his money. ;-)

And if it goes through the back wall of the garage, even better!

I know you sweetened the deal on your own, but what kind of friend would accept that? I've had friends do stupid things before (we all have), but I would never get gratification from forcing one of them to suffer. Not getting the car you really dream of counts as suffering in my books.
