So I'm a paying subscriber and yet my words are censored? Whats next youtube? Does anyone think youtube is going to be a sponsor? The system is broken.

That's exactly what I was thinking. $50 a year and we can't post a link to some of our pics.

I understand most of our rules, but not this one. There is even a "FerrariChat" group on FLICKER(minus the e).

This is a privately held forum. The owner makes the rules. You places your bets and you takes your chances. Whoever owns Youtube could do the same. I agree with you that some censorship here is a little much, like *****cat. However, since I don't own the site, I either abide by the rules or leave.

Rob the problem is we cant post hi res photos on fchat. Everytime I post a nice pic I get 20 PMs asking me to email hi res photos. Its a pain. Its much easier to post them elsewhere and link to them.

One thing I tried to implement awhile back is higher res allowance for subscribers, but I never got it to work. I have some photopost add-ons, I just need to configure it. Something I will look into more after the new servers.

I have no problem posting links to hi res photos if you post the 800 by 800. However, some of those locations, like ECRKT are blocked right now. There are hundreds that aren't though, most have their own server space anyway and don't use 3rd parties.

Absolutely true, based on my limited time over at ECT.

But, they both apeal to the same "customer base".

I see the sponsor/cross promotion thing as a big bonus now for the ECT guys, and maybe, as a valuable bonus for Rob as ECT grows.

Between Carb's comment that he smartly retracked, but I can see, and then BLKBLKBLK's comments, and then other EC users, I think we're just fine with the current policy. FerrariChat.com is looking for a higher level of conduct. I think Carb's sheep comments are appropriate as it appears they are going for something different that appears to run from top down with EC and ECKT.

Nothing personal, but you can have the masses if that's the behavior you example and accept online. We're not targeting the masses here like the MySpace generation (until they start buying Ferraris), other make enthusiasts, gangstas, and etc. We're simply a small personal community for Ferrari enthusiasts. Nothing more and nothing less. I don't need to talk gansta or be disrespectful to others in my posts. Just the way it is.

t was my comment rob about the sheep following the shepherd not carbs i retracted it because somehow i was logged in as him...

You run a tight ship rob and i appreciate it I really do you have created something from nothing and i admire it just don't forget who makes this place...

    The users provide the content..

I would like to know how you feel I was being disrespectful telling you its fine if you ban the word because you already banned the word last week?

This question was for rob not for all the smart rich guys out there by the way..

This last paragraph seems very out of place. I thought ownership was most definatly not one of the standards you had to have here. In fact some of the biggest contributors are non-owners (Brian and Carb to name a couple). Not to mention you have subforums for other makes than Ferrari...

This USED to be a small community, but the simple fact is it just isn't anymore.

The strangest bit of argument is you fear loss of advertising and loss of users. The internet is a big place and has plenty of sponsors and plenty of Ferrari enthusiasts that this forum won't lose either due to other forums (let alone websites that aren't of competition). I'm willing to bet at least 90% of the users on here are also contributors to multiple other forums, but yet it doesn't hurt the cashflow coming in..

Can someone please rip a sheet out of the trapper-keeper wherein Ecirket's business plan was scrawled and explain to me what your marketing scheme is all about?

I've always said the target was Ferrari enthusiasts. I've never said it was Ferrari owners. I should have said the e word instead of the o word. I mean that the masses of the MySpace generation aren't our target market, they wouldn't get along very well here until they start maturing a little and become more a pure Ferrari enthusiast.
