On recent trip to the west coast, I noticed premium gas is 91 octane, and in some places 92 octane. In the mid-west premium is 93 octane. Does anyone know why? Thanks RDS

EPA has mandated no less that fourteen different grades and combos of gas. You didn't say what you were driving but, my guess is that if you are driving a late model anything, you should be fine.

Thanks for the quick responses. I wasn't worried about it damaging the car, a 05 BMW 330, I was just curious. Thanks RDS
