Is the roof just a simple sheet of aluminium? Brings the conversion from coupé to barchetta in a whole different perspective.

Yes but remember they were formed to create window surrounds as well.

The door hinges are actually in the door, not the window part aren't they?. Thus I wonder if at high speed if the door window 'glass' opens a little. The window frames and windows themselves would not I think be very rigid.

More modern prototype coupe cars have the top hinge near the top of the window for this reason ... as far as I understand.

Very True but you always want to keep sliders open and keep plenty of fresh air flowing through the car. When 0846 was a coupe the side windows seemed not to flutter although it's interesting to note that on the Ford the top of the door tucks into the roof.

Amen! On one memorable trip to Arizona, I taped an air duct hose to the driver's side window frame so as to create airflow inside the GTO's cockpit.

Thank you for this very interesting thread.

Looks great! Is this the car that was the inspiration for P 4/5 ??

I'd love to see a photoshoot of the P 4/5 with the original. :)

Very nice! I think some professional pics of P 4/5 with that on one side and an Enzo on the other would a be pretty cool way to show the evolution. :)

The Enzo is a celebration of Ferrari's F1 resurgence.

P 4/5 is an Homage to the Great Ferrrari Sports Racing cars.

Different ancestral lines but both proud to wear the badge.

the p 4/5 is a wonderful job. very excellent combination of modern and the historic. i particularly like the way the rear fender blends into the spoiler almost identically.

the rear of the race car #224... the rectangular bulges hanging down in back are the famous FIA suitcase boxes?

    thanks for sharing with us.

It seems that our 0854 cars are in quite similar stages of restoration. Funny...
Still my world is eighteen times smaller, unfortunately!
