When I install the 25 mm rear spacers with the special lug bolts how do I keep the rotor/axle from spinning as I torque the bolts? I may install these tomorrow as long as it does not rain. Rodney Dickman 1990 348
Have a second person in the car with their foot on the brake pedal. If the brakes are not strong enough to hold the disc rotor from turning as you torque the bolts up, then start the car and let it idle with their foot on the brake while you torque them up.
so many to choose from ... they all sound great vs the stock exhaust ferrari put on the 348 . But I need a little push to make a decision from you guys my 348 need a good exhaust so what wil it be ? thankyou Saeaudio

Here you go mate. The easiest way I found to jack up my 348, was to use the middle/rear jacking point. My (K-Mart) trolley jack lifted both wheels off the ground, then I placed chassis stands underneath the front jack point and rear engine cradle. Was a safe lift with very minimal effort. After I placed the chassis stands under one side, I jacked up the other side from the same jacking point and placed the stands in the same spot. Too easy and it took less than 5 minutes. My car has a custom built system made in stainless steel. It was built in Germany and each section was made according to best performance possible. It looks like **** from underneath since there are so many bits and pieces welded together, but the SOUND man. She sounds like a squadron Tomcats and according to the company that made the system she has more than 30 hp´s than before as well as some + torque. They tested with a rolling bench and some computerstuff. Never mind the hp´s there is enough anyway but the sound make it all worth every cent! Call me dumb Pap, but I'm still a little confused. Didn't you do it a different way before. What if I only want to jack up the rear on one side, like I said before, just to clean under the wheel arch.
Ah, sorry mate. To jack up the rear, place the jack on the rear engine cradle as seen in my pics. To jack the front, place the jack under the front lifting point under the door. That will take one wheel up at a time to allow you to remove wheel and clean the wheel arch.
ie. as per pic 4 in your post 21,186 - trolley jack goes under rear subframe as shown. Is that the one for the rear end to lift one side of the car?

So half way through, your car is tilted to one side? You do rear, then front, then other side rear, then front again? Sorry pap If its 5 minutes, want to do it exactly the way you do
Also, the front has that clear bracket looking area as a lift point, and the rear does not, so the mark for that on the rear is right over the hole in the chassis? And how you get the jack stand there on the front if that is where you are lifting it in the jack. If my jack over laps that edge like yours does in the picture, it would bend it. OK no more questions on this from me Going to have it on stands next month to get some stuff taken care of. Saw some 3pc wheels I like, but maybe just recoat the 355 wheels. Hmm. Thought yellow might stand out with the shield, but red on red it is for the brakes.
Very quick and easy mate. Place the jack under the rear/middle jacking point. 20 pumps, the car is high jacked high off the ground. Place chassis stands under car, front or rear (does not matter which is 1st) then lower car onto stands. Then slip around the other side and jack car up. When it is level, place other jack stands under car. Front and rear. Same sh*t. Very easy.
I lifted the entire side, so I used the jack point towards the rear. The front jack point is where I placed the front chassis stand. The rear chassis stand is under the engine cradle. I had no issues with it bending, as they are the designated jack/lift points on the car. Just gotta be careful when lifting. If it looks like bending, then you have to move it a little. Keep at it till you get it on the strongest point on the jack point. I got it straight away. But I have jacked up HEAPS of cars in my lifetime.
Don´t make it so difficult. As long as you are just going to change wheels the easiest way is to use the rear jack point, towards the end of the door. At that point you lift same side both wheels. No magic , no wonder just simple. I have a hydraulic jack designated for racing........(.30 mm high.........less than 1 1/4 inch ) at the point where you stick it under the car. It´s real good. US made of course. I´ll take a photo and show you. //B//
I want to slap myself, I know, I must be having a retard day. However, rear center to get both off the ground at the same time, are you talking about the beam that run across under the pumpkin? Probably not. I assume there is no way to lift both front at the same time, but you are lifting the whole rear with the jack, then placing in the stands. I know the 4 stand/jacking points are basically font and rear of each door, one set has a hole near the rear, the other looks like a square behind the front wheels as seen in paps picks. So what's my problem? I guess I'm missing where lifting two sides at the same time safely is done. There was a lot more save spots on the corvette, lol. Shoot, you could just lift the rear suspension cross member itself, or any length of the side frame rail.
Oh, and I have no problem wheel at a time, want to have all 4 up, so I can't put the stand where the jack is, so I'm guess both rear then each front, or left side then right side, and leaving room put the stand near the jack. to set it on.
OK left to right or right to left, (was thing back to front). Car is basically tilted to one side until you go around to lift the other side. I think I'm getting you pap after reading again, must be long day. Someone confirm the rear mid jacking point has a hole near it and I'm good to go. Lift there, and then the other stands on the cradle, got it. Slap slap. I'm awake.
To lift both rear wheels..........I place the jack under each side of rear engine cradle (as seen in my previous pics) and lift one side at a time. Then place chassis stands under the engine cradle as seen in my pics. DO NOT lift off the little cross brace under the pumpkin, as it will bend and I would not trust lifting off it. Not a smart thing to do, trying to lift both rear and both front wheels off the ground at the same time. Plus you will need 2 jacks and ALOT of balls to attempt it. Only do both rears, both fronts or one side front/rear at a time.
