308s are great, and there are plenty of reasons to like them. But 328s are better built, offer better driveability/performance and the $10K premium is worth it for those who can swing the price of admission.

F40's decent - then you can work your way up! ;)

I might leave the 355 off the list, simply because its maintenance demands are -- well, demanding from the perspective of a first-time owner.

$60-$90K range is interesting because that's where I was looking in '05. The 328 seemed to me to be the best car in that price bracket as well (albeit at $90K the only 328 would be a zero-mile museum piece and in a sense a bad choice for a newcomer ...)

    I'd say:

    $25K-$40K: 308
    $40K-$90K: 328
$90K-$130K: 512TR (brutal classic), 550 (lovely GT car), or 360 Modena (modern)

I wouldn't advise someone new to Ferrari to spend any more than this. All these cars have good reputations, good resale, and except for the 360 are established classic designs.

Start with the 328. It's a great car and reasonable price.

    Thanks for the replies.

Now, lets hear the pros and cons of the 328 vs. 348.

    Thanks!

308gt4 would be a good choice.

    Guys-

No reponse led to more research. I also performed a search and found a very informative thread comparing the two models. Learned a lot of good stuff.

    Thanks anyways!
