Thanks, always looking out for more "interesting" numbers if anyone is inclined to part with them.

nice scott! 388 mean anything in particular?

question...on the vicroads heritage plate leaflet i have it says 6 digit combos (ie like yellafellas) can be purchased for $10k direct from vicroads

but we see them going at auction for well over $10k??

    I will !
I was talking to my friend today - he recently sold his plates
    Q2 & Q3
.....and no, he wouldnt tell me

388 is a low 3 numeral plate. Its significance is fiscal ;)

vicroads may have only cr@p combinations remaining...
are the action plates decent numbers ?

"8" is a lucky number for the Asian countries. The lower the number, the higher the value as noted. Combine the two for more value.

Not sure about the 6 digit plates. I suspect Vicroads has used up all the good numbers a long time ago.

They were advertised in Victoria in the Age if I am not mistaken. I seem to recall an ask around the $90k mark? It was a while back now.

The significance of a number makes a huge difference to the price someone will pay. I have seen high triple digits go for 6 figure sums for great numbers.
Conversely, a crap number like "69" has always traded at a discount to other 2 digit plates.

.....because he passed them in at auction a year ago at 600k
I offered him SUBSTANTIALLY more than 90k a few years ago... ;)

I need a practical work vehicle
A ute, dumped on its guts, on a set of 20's seemed pretty practical to me :D
Will keep it for a year, and then sell it....

Hmmmm, must have got my wires crossed! I am quite stunned that QLD plates have reached those heights already.

The number plates have appreciated significantly more than the other asset classes you listed :)
