Agreed. I've heard mothers/fathers call their offspring FAR worse in public places.

Baldwin is obviously frustrated, his wife is obviously still quite capable of pushing his buttons. You play with a bomb long enough, it will go off and sadly sometimes collateral damage happens. What I find most sad is that an actor behaving in poor taste makes national news...

 

Considering Mr. Balwin's past rantings on a variety of topics, this does not shock me either. AB has a vast ego and a limitless feeling of entitlement.
it is unfortunate that he should extend his anger toward a child whose age he doesn't seem quite sure of. BTW, concerning the "rift" we discussed privately something like this never occured, not ever.

I give him credit for trying to teach his daughter to respect him. There are too many parents out there trying to be their kid's best friend anyhow.
On the other hand, he should have handled himself better...he probably had just got to the end of his rope.

I'm 34 years old and still get into it with my father from time to time.

 

i can't count how many times i've gotten into a fight with my parents, g/f's, sister, i even got into it with my grandpa once. (political issue, didn't turn out too well for me, )
fighting is good, but this kind of stuff should not be leaked out to anyone other than the parties involved. i don't want to know what alec baldwin yelled to his daughter, just as i would hope he doesn't want to hear what i yell at people when i'm mad.

You can't be serious. I have NEVER seen anything even close to this level of disrespect within my family. As a child, I got into trouble like everyone else in the world. Not ONCE did my mother or father talk to me (or my siblings) like this:

well...commonality would lead me to believe that many people have said things out of anger or frustration that they later would we regret

perhaps my statement was an exaggeration but was meant to express the large number of people that i believe are guilty of speaking before thinking.

I don't think too many people weren't called worse or the same by their parents. I mean, I know I was!

Sometimes my mom would get so frustrated with me and my brother and sisters behavior that she'd say we were the worst children she could imagine, and that we were thoughtless and didn't care about anything. Etc, etc. I know most of my friends have the same. And I damn well know I've been called worse than a little pig!

Sure, taken out of context, it sounds really bad. But if you took some of the things I've said over the years in anger out of context, then I'd sound just as bad as Baldwin.

These kinds of things should NOT be made public. I feel bad for Baldwin, and for the girl. Have we (the public) no shame when it comes to taking down our much loved and much hated celebrities? Legions of pathetic losers unhappy with their lives build these people up with their "love" for them, then the rest of society and the media makes them crash and burn. It's pathetic!

 

So what? Kids are disrespectful idiots these days and mommy sounds like a vengeful beeyotch. There was no other reason to leak this other than to damage the guy. Her career is in the toilet, so why no bring him down as well? I dislike AB's political leanings and rants, but he was THE MAN in "Glengarry Glen Ross".

I am always wrong but, disrespectful kids (we know nothing about this one) learn from disrespectful adults. Being a great actor pales against being a really S***** parent. Screwing up tomorrow should be a crime. Sorry.

 

I completely agree with you.

I can't speak for other people, but I know that my parents never spoke to me in a disrespectful manner. By the same token, I never spoke to them in one either (because I knew what would happen if I did!). They certainly expressed disappointment when I made poor choices or got into trouble, but there is a vast difference between handing out a punishment and belittling a child.

I will agree with some others that this whole subject should have been kept out of the media. Obviously Kim leaked it out to damage Alec. I think it's sad that they're using their child as a pawn in their personal battle. It's worse that they're choosing to do it in the spotlight. No one wins in situations like this.

 

I'll call Basinger's attorney and get to the bottom of this right now!
