Does anyone have the Bosch part number for the ignition switch that fits behind the key lock component? I pulled mine out last night and all I can find is the Bosch emblem stamped in two places- no numbers.

I did a search of the archives and didn't come up with anything.

    Thanks!

    Tony

I could be quite incorrect, but I thought these were made by Sipea, not Bosch.

I believe the complete switch must be replaced, you might research an ignition switch out of a mid 1980's Alfa Spider or GTV6...look at Certerline's
    website.

I hit the wrong button. I will repost in the other section.

It has the Bosch emblem stamped on it. I will check the Centerline website. I was able to separate from the key unit. Maybe mine should have Seipan in it. I have owned the car since 1990 and it was never replaced since I have owned it.

    Appreicate your help.

During 10 years of owning my 1980 400i, I've sourced out many parts long before the spawning of these forums and relatively now parts "sources"..so I'll give out the BMW#...61-31-2-682-120..used on all 2002's find it at any BMW parts place..and DO NOT pay more than $85-100USD..or ferrari has for $350-500..you decide..thank all of you for the precious info-sharing on this site..it just goes that there is a God..Jacques..over...p.s.buy two because it Will burn out again..not if but when..

The 400 / BMW switch will not work for the cars with a steering column mounted ignition switch unfortunately.....
