Bentley Turbo
Oh. I'm sorry.............I don't recall the part where the original poster mentioned that fuel economy was part of the equation. Thank you for your sarcastic answer anyways. Funny you didn't mention the posts above me mentioning cars such as a 997 C4S, Daytona, 2007 Escalade, Ferrari F575M, Mercedes S65, SL65, BMW M5, Ferrari F430 Spider - or are these all fuel sippers in your mind?
Soooooo easy for me! Veyron Just do 250MPH there stopping every 12 minutes for gas. Get there early and live it up in LA for a while.
Hey Andrew, last year, right after the 997c4s came out, I saw one pull up in front of my business. I went out and talked to the couple. They had just bought the car in Montreal and had immediately packed up and drove across country to California. They loved the car and the trip.
If I had any car of my choice, it would be the Veyron...no need to justify it. But I was going for comfort. I would pick up a Black on Black RR Phantom for the trip.
But you don`t have a choice. It`s one of your personal cars, or a car available to you. Hell, if I had a choice it would be a brand new M5 with Ms. Universe sitting in the passenger seat.
Actually, no! I am not a "pot stirrer"! When I drive long distances, I have to keep myself excited, and the car has to be interesting. Otherwise, I fall asleep. My choice was based on performance, general comfort, and availability of parts/dealerships along the way (just in case).
Im envious ! I want to do a cross country trip soon. Some CDs , clothes and a friend and thousands of miles ! The C4S is perfect for this . A Daytona would be even better
Understood, but a GT3RS? Wouldn't that be contradicting the goal of comfort, especially in such a long haul I've never driven/rode in one so I wouldn't know exactly, but I think it's safe to assume the GT3RS isn't the most forgiving in terms of ride quality over various cross-country roads?
Bad choice, doesn't have the range west bound. You'd do better with a slower plan with more range. Art
If speed is not the primary concern, then I can't believe no one has recommended a Range Rover yet. Reliability issues aside (mine hasn't had a problem in the 2yrs that I've owned it) Very comfortable seats, high riding position allowing you to see over other cars for police, plenty of cargo room, 20mpg highway (HSE model, I'll take a picture of my LCD screen if you don't believe) . . . I could go on.
I have yet to drive/ride in an RS, but I have been in several GT3s. You are correct that the ride is not the most forgiving. However, too much comfort puts me to sleep, so I would need something more radical for my trek.
