Of course Michael went and got the food, he'll be there and back twice as fast as anyone else.

Definitely not this sport, but in the US there are a lot of people that don't have passion. Some names that come to mind are Manny Ramirez and Mike Tyson. Also the majority of the NBA has little or no passion for the game and or winning, you can tell who has passion by who is sweating at the end of the game, and that is very few players.

I understand what he did as I read it in the F1 News, about his first meeting with the race team. He made an effort and didn't sit there like a stick.

I hope he does make the effort to learn Italian, as MS did.

He is a hired gun. All he is required to do is show up when told to and WIN. If he does that, then everybody should be satisfied. I wish him well.

    Ciao...Paolo

All he needs to do is start winning races and that'll shut up the, "he doesn't show his feminine side emotions enough." (said in a whiny voice ;) )

MS learned Italian only after Barricello, who was already fluent, joined the team. He didn't want to give Rubens a competitive advantage, so he learned the language as well.

Had Rubens not joined, it is questionable whether Schumacher would have made the effort to learn the language. He couldn't be bothered to during the Irvine years.

He probably would have learned some Italian, but not to a level of near fluency that he has now. Good point though, certainly says something about Schumacher.

Says something about his paranoia. Barrichello was contractually a number 2 and that was painfully visible at Zeltweg (02 I believe).

I believe you are referring to the race where Rubens had to more over to Michael, yes it was 2002 Austrian GP at Zeltweg.

Everyone reacts differently. I'm sure Kimi's pleased to be where he's at, but I don't think he places all of his happieness it in. He likes to enjoy other things. We're used to seeing MS eat sleep and breathe racing, but Kimi isn't now and will never be another MS. People that have that Kind of heart are very rare, but just because Kimi isn't jumping around and directing his national anthem doesn't mean that he doesn't love being there. I agree that if it were me in his position, I'd be doing backflips with a sh*t eating grin on my face where ever I went. But again, everyone is different.

what brought on this thread had nothing to do with the fact that Kimi does not speak Italian though that is an interesting consideration. Aside from his personality which is taciturn /phlegmatic at best, I was also talking about his passion in terms of development of the car. I read somewhere that FA was instrumental in McLarensMB turnaround. If you think about how odd it is that they seem bulletproof this year(so far) and how bad they were the last 2 years. Come to think of it, looks like that is where Renault is headed. Kimi seems oddly detatched from that process, though I do not goes on behind closed doors. Does anybody know what Kimi's involvment in this years car has been?

Not terribly much: He was contractually bound to McLaren until the end of last year. His input started at the first winter testing in January and all that is on the record.

The current car is very much a Schumacher car with some influence from Massa.

I suppose it has been nothing at all, but I suppose the same goes for the McLaren: that car was already designed before their new drivers arrove.

Apart from that, do you remember when Kimi broke down a few years ago and had kicked some steward´s butt. Kimi was ANGRY, so he showed some emotions then.
