I never really appreciated the beauty of the GTB as much as after seeing the pics of your car. I have been considering a 328GTS but the GTB is definitely prettier.

    Congrats and thanks for sharing!

I haven't sat in a 328....is there enough headroom for someone who's, say... 6'1" tall?

I'm kind of vertically challenged so I fit very well. My guess is 6'1" is about the limit. I think there are some ways to adjust the seat so a taller person can fit. Taller guys can chime in.

    Furman,
I think I can speak for the local "club" that we're glad to have you and your new baby join is here in the high country. Hard to believe the club has grown from one (me) to four in just five years!

    Congrats,
    Dave

Dave, you forgot to mention that 3 out of the 4 are virtual clones of your car (with the exception of Furman's wheels, suspension, armpulls, oil sump pick up, etc., and Ric's red carpets). Gosh, it's like these things are getting way, way too common. You might have to mod your exhaust or suspension or something just to stand out (hee hee).

Are we going to have to change the name of the club now? Maybe we can discuss at the next club meeting...

    Congrats Furman!

I test drove this former Florida car and it was my first ride in an Fcar. The owner wanted like $57k at the time and I felt it was to much. Its a great car in fantastic condition! Since then it seems to have had 2-3 new owners and no one seems to drive or love this car. It still has the same 16-17k miles. It seems you will give it a true home. This car needs a loving owner as opposed to the horde of car flippers that have had it over the last 3-4 years.

Its weird but I feel a connection to this car. My wife and I saw it and for the first time ever and I started to believe that I would some day buy a Ferrari. It was the perfect starter Ferrari. A 328 GTB is special and extremely reliable. In the end I bought a glass 308 GTB that fell out of the sky. I love my GTB and I hope it will be cherished by my son when I am no longer on this planet!

Thanks for all the complements. Though it won't be a daily driver I will add some miles to it; probably around 1000-1500/year. And as long as I'm not forced to sell it, I'll keep it for many years.

After close inspection, the black paint on the GTB has chipped off. I like the chrome but I would like to concourse the car every now and then and I have a feeling the non-spec badge will cause more points to be deducted than say a wing added to a testarossa.

If you are lean and flexible you can fit all the way up to 6'3" or 6'4". For every 10 or 20 pounds of extra flesh, you'll lose an inch or so of leeway. I'm 6'1" and fit but lean; I fit in my car (less room in the GTS with the top on) with room to spare (I don't even put the seat all the way back). My dad is 6'2" and had ballooned a bit when he rode in the car. Due to his stiff knees, he could barely shoe horn himself in the car, and when I offered the wheel he demurred because he was certain he would be to big to fit the controls and driver's seat. My father in law is only about 5'8", but he's quite amply waisted, and he was also near the limit of comfort.

    Congratulations!

GTBs are special cars. After a long winter we had here in NoVA, I finally got to take my car out this past weekend. The car simpy feels better and better the more I drive it!

    Enjoy the drive!

Congratulations too! My first Ferrari was a 87 328 GTS. Man I loved that car. It was the perfect first Fcar to buy. While I only had it for 2 years, I drove the hell out of it. I now have a 98 355 F1 spider, but every time I see a 328, I wish I still kept it.

Now go out there and drive, drive drive!

It's amazing how often I see/hear this story. I immediately regretted selling my first 328 which is why I have had a 2nd one for 5+ years now and expect to keep it until death do us part. Although 328's have been thought of as "starter" Ferraris, more and more it seems people buy them and keep them because they are great cars in their own right. I'm amazed how many 328 owners also have other, more expensive Ferraris or other cars. I have a 430 myself.
