Ok, this is a stupid question, but those of you who have 550's does the car really sound like that or is the motor sound in the movie from another model?

This has been discussed before and the consensus was, that the sounds are partially dubbed from a 355 I believe.

Also note, that they mixed 550 and 575 in the film. Watch the brake calipers change colors...

The rims and the front light gaskets are also noticeably different between the two models.

The movie shows 2 Maranello`s with the sound of a 355. A little stupid from the producers, any car nut would know that difference...
What I also saw is that at one time you see a 550 with 575 headlight clusters (or vica versa) and at another time a `normal` 550 or 575.

The sounds of the 550 engine in Bad Boys II was definitely a F355 engine dubbed in.. I asked myself why the heck they would do that also..

If you listen to the track over and over again, it almost sounds like they took it from the scene in "The Rock" with Nicolas Cage when he was driving through San Francisco chasing the hummer.

I agree. My comment of the sound being real was in reference to the 550 in the The Family Man.

Actually there is an outdated list on FCA's website. Based on that I have put together a fairly comprehensive list as an Excel sheet. Happy to send that to whoever likes a copy. Lists the year of the film, the title and the car(s) in it.

    An in a shameless plug:

I have about a dozen (some hard to get) movies on sale with Ferraris in them. The link above is just one example.

I think its because the 355 is one of the best sounding Ferraris ever.. I love the 355 so much. Definately a weird thing to do though.

Here the sound and see the key clips from the movie (as well as from The Family Man) here. The car for sale at this link also looks phenomenal. Masterful site I must say.
