Jon or anyone - do you know where I might find the two banjo bolts and fittings for both sides of the fuel filter canister? They are 14 mm 1.5 thread and I cannot find them anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I got a set of new brake, clutch, and accelerator rubber from Dennis McCann 3 years ago. ReOriginals may also have them. Not very expensive (at least then).

Ed - thanks for the lead. I knew of NewCo, but forgot to check with them for the banjos. Looks like they may have them.

    Thanks.

Hey Jon, did you sand or grind the substrate (I guess it's primarily fiberglass?) before applying those fiberglass strips? Are the strips just meant to make it look continuous, or are they intended to do anything?

When I took it out there were fiberglass strips on all the seams. I don't know if you really need them, I just did what was there before.

I agree! I can't wait until it's done to see the complete finished product. I would love to hear it too and to see what bugs you will have to work out since it is essentially a new car. With such a perfect restoration, will you even want to drive it?

That insulation looks great. Is heat / weather a problem?

You get heat from the center tube with the radiator hoses running through it.

Actually it's just 3 day blinds. Verticle blinds. I couldn't think of anything else that would cover up the boxes yet be easy to open to get at stuff. I can't stand seeing stuff piled on shelves.

Today I worked on a few things. I didn't have quite enough hydraulic line and my order came in today so I finished the lines. I didn't have enough because I screwed up the first couple I did till I sort of got the hang of it. If you plan on replacing lines KEEP THE OLD ONES FOR PATTERNS. I had to learn the hard way on that. I finished with the steering, it also is a little trick as there definetly is a order which you put all the parts back in. Third try I got it right. Be sure everything is centered as you put the parts back in. I finished the thermal insulation on the bottom, at least that was a nice easy job. I'm waiting and waiting for a fan blade then I'm planning on doing the fan motors, the radiator, the spare tire tub, then the wiring. I'm having a new aluminum floor pan fabricated then I can button up the bottom. It is all a bit of a challenge and when you think something is just straight forward it's not. There are lots of things I will do differently and better on the next one that I've learned so far from doing this.

did u rebuild the steering rack? if so was it hard to do? I bought a quick turn kit from Superformance (they didnt have the normal turn kit) and am starting to dismantle it. It looks like you need a special wrench to take the tie rod arms off...thanks

I did not rebuild it. I did have it checked out and they found nothing wrong with it or really any wear. The car was a 24,000 mile car.
