Same here; I thought The Island was pretty good, even if it didn't have the Wally:)
Redline ain't no Blades of Glory.........can't beat a movie with two guys skating and staring at each others crotch.
Micheal Bay had nothing to do with Redline, FYI The Island - Domestic - $35,818,913 International 120,000,000 Total $161,818,000 Bad Boys II - Domestic - $138,540,870 International - $134,000,000 Total $272,540,000 Pearl Harbor - Domestic - $198,539,855 International - $251,960,000 Total $450,500,000 Armageddon - Domestic - $201,578,182 -International 353,000,000 Total $554,600,000 The Rock - Domestic - $134,069,511 International 202,000,000 Total $336,000,000 Bad Boys - Domestic - $65,647,413 International 76,000,000 Total $141,600,000 Total Worldwide Gross $1,917,058,000 The island was his only financial bomb, you could argue the artistic value or rating of his films but you cant argue the facts, his movies perform very well financially. So overall his films have grossed close to $2 Billion Worldwide, pretty rarified air. I would say even if Transformers bombs he is very far from going back to directing music videos and Budweiser ads
Writerguy you should do some research before you start talking out of your a$$. Michael Bay isn't going anywhere. Financially speaking his films perform and that's why he gets hired.
Just to spread some second hand gossip... Was chatting with someone who had something to do with Redline.. I was told the producer who funded it has skipped out on millions of dollars of bills related to the production. I dont know if its true or not... but this person is usually reliable and he's not the only person Ive heard these stories from.
Wow, Red really tanked! first of all... where the heck did WGuy (a journo?) get the idea that Bay had ANYTHING to do with this abomination? Even if you're not a movie buff...don't follow hollycrud...sheesh, the average 13 year old knows that Bay didn't do Redline... lastly, yessir, Bay movies bring in lots of cash, that's a fact...and I for one, am greatly looking forward to Transformers!!! don't give a crap about ratings, reviews, etc...all that matters is if I--ME, like it... just like many others, some of movies i enjoy are poorly reviewed...i don't care...
lmao, It has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/redline/ And you know it's a sh*tty movie when the official website is on myspace http://www.myspace.com/RedLine
I'll still watch it on DVD, but the results are sad... BOX OFFICE HISTORY Week Rank Wkd. Gross Theaters Per Theater Cumulative Week #1 11 $3,962,385 1,607 $2,466 $3,962,385 Week #2 16 $1,306,443 1,325 $986 $5,978,776 Week #3 26 $381,329 610 $625 $6,678,765 Week #4 46 $50,890 96 $530 $6,823,089
Acting was TERRIBLE. But the car scenes were by far more revolting. All cars accelerated to 200mph+ in 5 secs and stayed there while cornering around canyons, etc... My favorite part was in one of the races when there had been 50 shots of the speedo at 220mph, one of the cars shoots forward to take the lead... it was beyond cartoonish. My friend and I also laughed so hard when the brother died in the fake Diablo. This was worse than I could have imagined.
I agree Dave, I wasn't much for the Transformers cartoon but I'm really looking forward to the live action movie.
I just saw the new trailer for it, looks to be very impressive. ..as for REDLINE, only 51 theatres are still showing it. Why it hasn't gotten completely pulled is beyond me.

Zyzzyx Road, starring Katherine Heigl and Tom Sizemore, grossed only $30 (yes, thirty) dollars in the box office with only 6 viewers. Unofficially, it made $20 on the opening weekend. However, internationally, it was released in 23 countries and made $368,000. Budget was $1.2 million so not too bad of a loss. Here are a few films distributed by NewLine and their performance: Domino cost $50 million to make and only made $17,759,202 worldwide. King's Ransom cost $25 million to make and only made $4,049,527 worldwide. Little Nicky cost $80 million and made $58,270,391 worldwide. drumroll... Town & Country cost $125 million ($105 million production, $20 mil ads) and it made $10,364,769 worldwide. $115 million+ loss. Wow. That movie starred quite a few big names. Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton, Andie McDowell, Jenna Elfman, Goldie Hawn, Charlton Heston, Josh Hartnett, etc.
