Sell the friggin' Boxster already. The guys in the 308/328 section sent me over here to let you know the vintage guys aren't going to let you off the hook either.
I met a guy with some project cars that were old BMW's from the 40's in his garage. As we looked at the progress there, I asked about a Ferrari he mentioned one time. He showed me a 1958 250 2 door coupe, 2 headlights faded orig red paint and a rebuilt V12 done 15-20 yrs ago with not much use since. I can't remember if he said gt250 or 250gt. I do remember he said the ones with a air scoop on the hood were quite expensive and his had no scoop. He used to take it to vintage races, but has lost interest. So I am thinking I should learn more about that car, just in case it comes available. Which model might it be? Any help from you guys would be appreciated.
Thank you for your reply, I appreciate the input. As I looked at the dusty red coupe, the owner said it is an xyz, not a zyx. I can't remember for sure which way it was. What I am referring to is the GT being before or after the 250. It was backwards to what I am used to, and he made a point of it, as if that made it somewhat unique. I think 250 GT rolls of my tongue and GT 250 is a bit odd. It also has a little bit of interesting history. I know some of you guys like to collect stories on cars. I will try to get the scoop and vin documented, and ask if I can take some video tape of the car and owner with the story.
s/b 150-160. The uniform low # are probably just wear. I would be more worried about 11cyl 150 and 1 120 You can get a lot of use out of a worn motor if oil pressure is good and no water in the oil or vice versa, but as someone else pointed out rebuilds aint cheap.
