Thank you God. I have no idea what the jail in Lynwood is like but at least it's a start. I just pray that she gets her ass beat beyond recognition.

LOS ANGELES - A judge sentenced
Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life.

Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before announced the sentence.

She was then ordered to report to women's jail in suburban Lynwood.

The heiress arrived at court 10 minutes late in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade and swept into the Metropolitan Courthouse with several men in suits, ignoring screams of photographers lining the route into a rear entrance. Her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, also came with her.

Wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over black slacks and with a black headband on, she said nothing and appeared serious.

The celebrity case brought an unusual scene to the austere courthouse south of downtown in a commercial area. As if at a red carpet event, dozens of photographers and reporters lined up at the rear entrance. Yellow police tape substituted for velvet ropes.

TV trucks were parked nearby to beam the news worldwide and a helicopter hovered overhead. Extra sheriff's deputies stood guard.

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

She was sentenced to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enroll in a mandated alcohol education program, are what landed the socialite back in court.

On Jan. 15, Hilton was pulled over by California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on Feb. 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11 p.m. after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton wasn't aware her license was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on Jan. 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

I was hoping that this would happen. She thinks because she is famous she can do anything she wants. I hope she learns a lesson.

Unfortunately there is no way they will put her in GP so it is unlikely she will receive the ass whopping that she needs.

I dated a chick that was in Lynwood...very unpleasant place.

Paris is not going to dig it much... having said that its so overcrowded that most inmates only serve 1/4 of their time... so she'll be out in about 10 days.

I had lunch with Paris about 2 years ago to discuss a part in a movie I produced. She was nothing but pleasant.

Next fashion statement: County jail jumpsuit orange!

With 36 months of probation, I forecast a couple of repeat performances.

P.S. They should throw her b!tch mother in there as well for laughing at the prosecutor's comments and asking the judge for his autograph. No wonder Paris is so f'ed up.

Jail blows, ive been. I wouldnt wish 45 days of it on very many people. However I hope that it can help to bring this kid down to earth a little bit. With parrents like hers she was screwed from the begining. Both her mom and dad are huge *******s who have never had to work for anything, company was given to her father. She wont be in GP, but it would better for her if she was, it would knock some sense into her.

Anyone know if this is a reasonable sentence for someone who has committed this violation? While I expected the Judge to give her a few days in jail to understand the seriousness of the offence, I think 45 days isn't consistent with what others might get.

    Is this appealable?

It is up to the jail as to when she gets released. Lost star michelle rodriguez was let out of jail two hours into a thirty day sentence for drunk driving. However I believe that they will enforce this sentence to make an example out of her. However it is possible that she will get out earlier than 45 days. Dont do the crime if you arent willing to do the time.

    From original post:

Hilton, 26, pleaded no contest in January to reckless driving stemming from a Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Police said she appeared intoxicated and failed a field sobriety test. She had a blood-alcohol level of .08 percent, the level at which an adult driver is in violation of the law.

    _____

If a habitual offender/drunk driver is on probation, ignores court orders, violates probation, the book gets thrown. Taken together, it's time for her to Live and Learn.

    I read the story.....

I'm just not sure what is std. practice in CA for this. If this is what would happen, on ave., to others then it's a fair sentence. My feeling is that someone else would have gotten less. But, I could be wrong......

That's why I was asking if someone here knows the CA court sys.

Well I have a few friends who have gotten DUI's and all of them were hit way harder then she was on their original infraction then she was (min. 1year suspended license, 5 years probation, $5000+ in fines alone) so I'm guessing the judge did not take it lightly to the fact that after getting of easy the first time she didn't take it too seriously. After all she was pulled over twice after that with a suspended license.

I may not like her much, but ANY publicity is GOOD publicity.

All I would ask is that she gets the same sentence that you or I would get, and vice verse' if any of us did what she did.
However, if it was you or me, I'm sure we would have gotten 90-180 days, with her priors.
