    Anybody else suddenly feeling.......um, well......."inadequate"??
I even feel like I've been neglecting mine, only doing a little touch-up and polish yesterday. :D

I've got to see yours in person someday.

1/4 the price of stock parts?

Not sure which parts you're referring to J.P.

So far the only parts / systems not stock on my car are:

    - Seats - mine will end costing around $10K
    - Brakes - parts alone $8500. Quite a bit of custom work to install
    - Radiator - being that Ferrari wants $4200 without fans, mine will come in just shy - only with fans.
    - Wheels - Kinensis were arond 8k - new stock looking f40's arent finished yet.
    - Steering wheel - still being constructed but will be arond $1500
    - Shocks - Koni adjustable - $ has been published here before - not sure what we paid for them.
    - Stereo - McIntosh amp, head unit, speakers - $4k for parts alone
    - Tubi (I wish I had known of x-ost

Everything else is stock. There is unfortunetly nothing on this car that was inexpensive in my opinion. In some cases as you can see - the aftermarket parts are quite a bit more expensive than stock.

We have purchased so many stock parts as well - way to many to list but:
    - Clutch
    - Master cylinders (clutch and brake)
    - Entire AC system
    - Steering rack
    - All hoses
    - Countless trim pcs (a few still to go)
    - All rubber seals

All irrelevant to me however. We want to make a great car. Quality and design are everything to me. The parts we chose and the decisions we've made have been based on creating my vision of what this car can be.

While I really don't want to go into to much detail on things but BB calipers if you can find them are outrageous, same with rotors, same with other BB parts if you can find them.

In particular I was referring to some of the hosing you are using such as the blue stuff compared to OEM parts.

I am not trying to pick on your car to each his own, I have used after market parts on my BB as well such as ignition and wires which is a big improvement over stock, my dash has been modded by Zender as was the entire car at great expense in the 80s, everything returned back to stock except the interior which is of superior quality than OEM IMO for road view and the leather quality and I can't bring myself to return it factory either as I like it better

    I understand.
I'm tempted to reconsider my strategy of hanging on to some of my stock parts. Sounds like my rims and tires and rotors and calipers alone could bring some big dough.

    Beautiful attention to detail....well done.
In the pic with the blue hoses, it appears as if you did not repaint the birdcage members...easy task even if you do it by hand with brush..
I cleaned and brush painted entire sub frame by hand on my ex bb.

What brand of hose clamp did you use on the coolant and fuel pipes? Im going through this issue with my 308 right now. I was looking at Wurth clamps, they come in metric sizes and are narrow like the originals (and the ones you used). Im not going to bend over the barrel and pay for the right clamps made in france so Ill go with what looks the same, just curious.

It almost makes me tired looking at the photos. The effort, level of detail, organization AND THE REMARKABLE KINDNESS to share it with sympathetic and equally possessed brethren. I ain't even talkin' 'bout the dough spent either - this is like watching Michelangelo Does Maranello or something.

Please know that for every high five you get here in words, there are dozens, hundreds even, of applauding, supportive F-fans (like me) who think this thing is the end-all be-all of "properly" modded Boxers. Sure, we could all bicker over details, but my gosh, this is book-worthy. I said that about 2 months ago, and still say it: I'd buy the ebook, download, or coffee table wonderlust pictoral of this project.

You're very generous to your highly qualified techs and artisans, but most especially to us who somewhere deep inside kinda wish we were doing a project like this... yet we can get our kicks through yours! Keep it going...

I don't know where you are getting all these trick carbon fiber parts - the interior lamp surround?!!! Unbelievably cool. I want some. And, yeah, those seats gave me a stiffy too. What a dream...
