You have to take the old one/s out and then match them up to the numbers on the side of the outer bearing race.

Bearing peeps, My mechanic is telling me it is a pressed bearing, not with races. He claims Rockauto is wrong. Anyone know more??

Sure. I've had a lousy day, and am working on Heineken #3.

Just put something in your order notes, and I'll get it taken care of.

(Offer valid until 5/7/07 midnight PDT)

    :)

Hey, at least you've got the correct part. Also, I think that I recall someone here (maybe FBB??) finding out that the generic version (that I posted), which works, has only half of the ball bearings as does the OEM part.

Not positive on that "fact," though.

Well your mechanic is wrong. If you look at the pic, Dan kindly posted in his link, you will see that the bearing indeed does have an inner bearing race. Yes I know I said check the outer race, but you get the point.

You can do one of two things. 1) Buy if from Dan the man. Just so you know I bought all the stuff I needed for my transmission rebuild from Dan, and that included a butt load of bearings. 2) Press out the old bearing and take it to a bearing shop and have them match it up.

Getting the last race off may be a little tough but is made easy by heating it with a good torch and it will fall off. Clean up the hub then press the new one on. You may also need a new nut for the phonic wheel.
