    Agreed. A real beauty.

It is probably the car design that most Americans associate with the name Ferarri.

However, the 308 QV has 240 hp versus the 328 which has 270 hp (some sources say 265 hp for the 328 - I have never known which figure is correct).

    Pap,

How about a few pics of the interior? Gauge cluster, center console, pedals under dash, etc. Being a RHD car, this would be interesting to see how everything is organized inside.

And, one more request, please, no Pebbles.

    Thanks.

    That sounds like a plan!

I have thought 308... and if I had the extra $$, a 328 would work, too...

The GT4 has a bit of practicality, too, it's a 2+2! At least it makes a good luggage bin!

I have been wanting to join here, but kept forgetting. It was an alignment of the planets. :)

I see what you mean. I have owned 4 cars with ABS. A 92 Honda Prelude Si, a 94 Prelude VTEC, a 92 Vette and an 87 Vette. The Preludes had good, high threshold ABS. The 92 Vette has decent ABS, but dubious traction control. Great for bad roads, tho... and the 87 has been down for the count for the last 2 years, so I don't remember what that is like. :)

THAT'S IT! It's been several years since I had to consider CIS... like over 10!

That's who I was thinking of...

Same here... it has to be totally warmed before it will go in smoothly.

My 92 has a hydraulic clutch... and no "drop" dampener. Let that sucker rip!

    A 308 with a 12cyl would be... a death trap.

As I understand it, the Euros have 270, the US models have 265 -- under slightly reduced compression for lower octane US fuels. I'd have to go back and check the engine shop manual for the specs, but I think the 308i/QVs also had lower compression (and net BHP) for different markets, too.

Huh? The 512BB is a real car -- a "180 degree V12" in a car that has many exterior and interior similarities to the 308. They cost a lot more than a 308, though. Partly because of the larger engine, and partly because they were never sold in the US by Ferrari. The only ones over here have been independently federalized.

Most any Italian car will "do you a mischief" if you don't pay attention to your driving. The 512BB is just more of the same.

Yes, there were some power differences, all due to US EPA smog requirements.

sure, the 512BB is a real car... but comparing it to the 308? yea, they look a bit alike, both being Pininfarina designs, but the chassis are way different. The H12 sat longitudinally, where the V8 sat transversely. among other differences.

Center of gravity on the 512 was not all that nice... considering the engine sat ON TOP of the transmission! That's a nice lump sitting shoulder high!

To bring it to a more comparable example, sure the Camaro and Corvette are both front engined Chevy's, but that's where it ends.
