I am considering doing the Vanity plates on the 308 and looking for ideas. What are some of the 308 plates out there. Back in the late 70's Rick Mears had a 308 after winning Indy his California plate read......1 indy 78 Doug
I don't have a vanity plate, but I *think* I'm going to be able to snag the Massachusetts specialty Spay/Neuter plate #308 for my car. I knew helping all those kitties in past years would be good for something!
How about: bigpnis (to combat those small wiener rumors for F car owners) bastdrd byteme pisello fatcobra (to many letters, have to find a way to shorten it.) ok enough fooling around. Im just joking around. Serious ones: ciao nticeme 4RE 308(classic)
Doug, With Florida so huge of a State, i think the good ones are taken. But, here are 2: FERRAR1 FORZA And some of my favorites when i was younger and didn't care WETYET NEVR55 Like i said, those last 2 when i was younger.LOL!
My first CART race was at Road America/Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in 1985. First time I think I saw a Ferrari in person to boot. Anyhoo, Arie Luyendyk was racing the Provimi Veel car for Dick Simon. After qualifying I saw Arie get into a red 308. It being my favorite car ever, and I was a big fan of Arie at the time. I look at the back of the car and it said 4 Arie on Wisconsin plates. At that time early in his career he still lived in a Milwaukee suburb. Cool experience all around.
Mine is ordered but won't be ready until December-ish. Can't have those prisoners working too hard now! What about: 85GTS GTS GTS4ME
Sorry to be a spoilsport on this issue, but (IMO) a vanity plate is just that vain. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your car, your hard work it took to get it, the fulfillment of a life long dream, etc. Yet the car has prancing horse on the front, steering wheel, console and various other places depending on the model and clearly spells out "FERRARI" right on the rear decklid...does a person really need that extra level of validation?
My wife would agree with you. But I like plates that are funny or clever in some way; it's creativity more than vanity to me. Mine is LOTUSH on my Europa; it has the lowest tush I've ever seen on a car... Ken
I'll share my previous 4RE plate which was on a 84 308 Euro - WOWA4RE Everyone liked that one I've been thinking of creative plates since I hope to be a 328 owner soon 4RENUT CEMEFLY PASSION GRT308 or 328 HRSPWER HANG ON FLYNBY 4RE4US and of course my name on chat 4RE4ME Fun to think of them Curious where your 84 is coming from. Is it high mileage - 70K or so. Sold mine in 04 to someone in Minnesota - had about 60 something on it then. Great car - Enjoy!!!
4RE F♥TS F♥T BIG 1S 1 BIG F♥T BXR F♥TS (for the 365BB crowd ) And for the truely tasteless... ET MY F♥TS
I had "4RE" when I lived in Kansas and was able to keep it here in Nevada. Back in the old days when you had to pay for your gas inside it sure made it easier to have a vanity plate when they would insist on having your plate number on the credit card slip. They still do that at truck stops with my motor home, and if I didn't have it written down I wouldn't remember it. Old age or too many vehicles.
Just wait the appropriate time in your state and get the Collector/historic plates. It keeps the cops from pulling you over. Sorry to the new guys, just another advantage to carb models.
