I respect the person who made the diablo replica, especially considering how difficult it was to make early IFG Replicas look acceptable. A replica is nothing more than making a model of a work of art. The only difference is a replica is driveable while a model sits on a bookcase.
Agreed, in fact i think IFG is the Co. that put the diablo together, there are many Co. that puts kit car together but IFG is suppose to be one the best in the nation. Here is the link. http://www.newrule.com/011905.html
I think there needs to be less replica more concept design! i mean with the craftsmenship of some really really good replicas out there, its a wonder why their isnt their own design of something off the wall! Same technique is applied. I mean hell if someone made the 2054 lexus down to a T and a dotted i. I would take it over any super car, just cause its way nutty. Or is it i am just really buzzin? someone will agree with me i know it!!!
It is a lot more fun and challenging to try to replicate something existing than come up with your own design. With your own design you can cut corners when running into a problem. It is a lot harder trying to get it as right as possible. Doing a replica that looks right costs a lot of money. That's why replicating a relative unexpensive car makes no sense. Point in case: The 250 GTO replica/rebody that was based on a 250 GTE cost about a quarter million to make. But it was basically a 1:1 copy of the original, that costs many, many millions (if one were for sale). Which btw is why I don't see the point in turning a MR2 into a 355. But the workmanship displayed here is excellent.
