TODAY IS THE DAY we get started! It *should* have been that we get the install completed today, and then tune it tomorrow on the dyno, but unfortunately, UPS messed us up... one box was mis-routed and won't be here until tomorrow. But there's enough here now that we can get the install started.

I expect that this setup is going to be very robust. What I like compared to other bolt-on options is that it is uses a fully mapable/programmable Electromotive XDI-2 system (though it will work with the regular XDI also) to replace the distributors and old digiplexes, a harmonic balancer rather than the original rubber dampener, and I especially appreciate that it is "scaleable"... I'm starting at what should be near maximium for the stock clutch, but if/when I'm ready to push it up for another 50 to 100 horsepower, it's just a matter of upgrading the clutch and replacing an $80 pulley. And of course, the association with Scott McGehee and Nick's Forza for technical excellence and ongoing support is hard to beat!

Scott flew in last night, and we'll be documenting it with photos for the kit's installation manual. Stay tuned for posts and pics tonight.

Background for this is in the thread at http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144089

    Mmmmmm.... (drooling) supercharger...

I am so glad that there are brave folks like you out there to test this stuff. I know one of these kits will find it's way to my garage in the next couple years. Looking forward to reading all about it!

"SMG2" here on FChat, and the designer of the system that Nick's selling. He's also designed other custom 308 parts.

A bit of a description of what was done today:

Take off rear wheels and liners

Take off crankshaft pully and dampener

Take off warm up regulator and reposition using new brackets

    Install brackets for supercharger blower

    Install supercharger blower

Install temporary fitting on top of CIS air intake (aluminum setup shown in the pics will be replaced by custom carbon-kevlar piece).

Install temporary intake fittings that feed the supercharger (they'll also be replaced by custom carbon-kevlar piece).

Route new oil lines (haven't installed them yet)

    Route new vacuum lines

    ==============

Tomorrow, presuming the missing parts get here as expected, we install the oil and vacuum lines, install the new pulley, harmonic balancer and trigger wheel setup, install new trigger wheel bracket (reposition sensor), install a map sensor, and do some minor cleanup and odds and ends... AND THEN FIRE THIS BABY UP AND TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND DYNO TUNE SESSION!

What model is the patient? Looks very PRO, the finishing touch will be the intercooled replacement lower plenum. 355s etc are not only more expensive by rental real estate downpayments but way more trouble cause from my end anyways, Im old school.

    Looks great!

I see the cam cover is in place. Scott said he was going to make something up, but it looks original.

    And what's that canister thing?

    Rockon boys.:)

If I keep telling myself that, maybe I'll quit looking around the house for things to sell and pawn :D

(Anyone want a Medieval Madness pinball?)

On a serious note, why change the aluminum boost "cap" to a carbon one? Is that just for aesthetics?
