    Double Bladed Guillotine......smooth cut.

But sometimes I punch........smoother smoke, don't inhale as much as a cut.

Also, I smoke the large cigars with a big girth. 7 3/4-8+" in length. Some don't do good with a regular punch.

    I punch.

I hate guillotineing because I get slivers of tobbacco in my mouth because the end is no longer all sealed up. Punching gives me a smooth rounded end to make a nice lip-seal with while preventing bits of leaf getting in my mouth.

Scissoring tends to mess up the ends in my experience and by the time you make it past half way, the end is all sloppy and coming apart.

Anybody use the v-shaped cutters? I don't smoke often at all, but when I do I use the v-cutter. It cuts clean and, in my opinion, allows just the right amount of air/smoke flow.

I punch. I keep a punch on my key chain so I'm ready anywhere, anytime :)
Used to Guillotine, but it draws too much smoke and the thing with the tobacco bits in the mouth.

Only drawback to a punch is it sometimes cracks the cigars outer leafs, especially if the cigar is really dry.

+1 I have a single blade cutter and I don't like it at all. I found that with a little practice I can get it where it doesn't flake off.

i like a cats eye cut. i use my pocket knife. the v blade cutters do a nice job too. i'm more of a chewer than a puffer. when using a guillotine the end comes apart after a while when chomping the end.

Cut with a Palio double blade cutter. From everything I've tried it gives the cleanest cut. My Xikar has been crap.

They used to use German stainless blades and make them there. Now they are made in Taiwan. Except for the one with the nylon/plastic-like body. It is still made in Germany.

I have the metal one. They have replaced it several times. They dull quickly. I am thinking of sending it back and telling them to send me the plastic one with the German blades.

The palio cutter is great, it is easier to line it up where you want the cut too.

Punches are good. I like the fact that they don't leave you with a mouth full of tobacco slivers. I don't like the fact that the sides of the cut part inside the cigar will start to have a build up of tar on large cigars that can change the draw and flavor.

when i'm at my local cigar bar, i almost always use the normal cut, however, when i'm out with friends somewhere, i use my trusty lighter with a punch built in. sometimes i'll do 2 or 3 punches to allow for easier drags.
