I saw a Black Continental GTC today, while I was eating a DQ (Union/Yosemite), the owner came in and got ice cream, then took off. Told him "You know, I'm going out to stare at your car"... He laughed.

Was BEAUTIFUL, but it might have been different than the other one because the interior looked like Camel/Dark Tan rather than standard tan.
It was BRAND NEW, temp plates from Bentley Denver (FOD?)

I'm down there a lot - errands during the day, and then in the evenings I head down just to spot cars. Lots of reward too - tonight I got a 348ts and a 550 (both of which had FoD plate frames - in fact, the 348ts had brand new plates - you might know the car - it's yellow), plus a Viper SRT-10. Pictures forthcoming.

Hey James - I didn't catch the dealer issuing the temporary plate off this Bentley, but the dealer's paper plate was blue, with red and perhaps yellow writing on the top. Is that Bentley Denver? Can't imagine it's much else - since these things came out four months back there's not a lot of room for them to be on the secondhand market yet. You saw the owner - so did I - I think he was in his late-30s, maybe early-40s, with light-colored hair. I spotted the car in Denver at about 2pm.

Thanks! That means a lot - seeing cars is a nice hobby - get fresh air, get to cruise around and listen to music, and most importantly, get to see nice cars! One of my photos (a Murcielago Roadster on 1st and University) made a recent issue of 'CAR' magazine, which is sort of the UK equivalent to 'Automobile.' Speaking of which, my promised photos from this evening:

    - Dodge Viper SRT-10 (2nd and St. Paul)
    - Ferrari 348ts (2nd and Milwaukee)
    - Ferrari 550 Maranello (2nd and Clayton, in front of North)

I also caught a yellow, extremely rare Viper GTS ACR northbound on I-25 south of Hampden today, but no photo so you haven't got to believe me (I was southbound). The ACR is the crazy rare (800 made) 'competition' first-gen Viper GTS. I saw a black one at GP of Denver, but I've seen no others until today. Wish I had a photo, as that would've nearly topped the Murcielago Roadster spot!

Time is about right, I saw the car at DQ at around 3pm. Top was up when he was as DQ. The car had paper temp plates on rear only, but it was the standard CO paper temp plates, the plate FRAME said "Bentley" on top and "Denver" on bottom if I recall correctly.

The age of the driver isn't right though. This guy was say late 40s early 50s, with his wife, definately younger than I expected, but not a young guy. (For reference BTW, I'm 40, so maybe he just looked older than me).

The interior looked more like saddle color, not tan. However, it definately was a BLACK car.

Either 2 of the exact same color Bentley's in town, or same one just looked a bit different to each of us.

I actually liked the car, I could recognize it as a Bentley, but its shape did NOT make it "stand out" that much, good "incognito" luxury car. If you didn't know what it was, most people would probably think its a japanese car. I think the people in DQ thought I was nuts to go look at it.

Definitely not the same car - there was no paper temporary plate on the one I saw, just the dealer's plate. I figured the paper one must've been either on the rear window (of the top, which was down) or just elsewhere. Convertible owners always have a tough time with those.

It was my sixth Continental GTC spot (though my first in Denver). I'm not much for the Continental GT or the Flying Spur, but I've really taken to the convertible. I'm not sure why, but to me it's by far the one to have. And as you know from seeing it today - it's a really nice car.

Was that viper Yellow with black strips? I see a yellow with black stips viper around every now and then, never got a good enough look to see if it is a Viper GTS ACR.

Yes - it was yellow with black stripes. I only saw it for a second or two on the highway, but it was certainly badged "GTS ACR" and was carrying the ACR wheels. Those are rare cars that are rarely driven.

Lots to do today, but I was able to get down to Cherry Creek for lunch, where I saw some great cars. First off, a black F430 Spider on 3rd and St. Paul with temporary plates expiring June 18th, suggesting a delivery date of about three and a half weeks ago. A great car - chrome wheels, F1 transmission, and... a child seat on the passenger side, which the young owner strapped his even younger daughter into before leaving. :D

Also caught a Z8, different from the one I saw yesterday (in fact, I have never seen this particular one before) on 3rd and Fillmore, an NSX on south Downing Street just west of Washington Park. Perhaps the highlight was a Shelby GT500E, a replica of Gone in 60 Seconds' "Eleanor," which is a $119,000+ car and one of only 475 made by a company in Texas. This one had Texas 'untitled vehicle' plates, which are given to vehicles heading out of state for a title transfer - hopefully to Colorado, in this case. A very interesting spot, in front of the JW Marriott on Clayton between 1st and 2nd.

I saw the same car AGAIN!!!! Today, McDonalds around 12:30pm. This time I actually talked to the owner. He said he thought there were 3 GTC's in town, a black with saddle interior (his), black with ivory interior (the one DDemuro saw at Cherry Creek I'm assuming) and a white one.

He was a really cool guy, saw me in my boxster today, we chatted for a few mins in line. Really cool.

    And again, NICE!!!! car.

Thanks for the GTC explanation James - now I know what to look for - hope I see the other ones!

Tonight's take was decent, but I really hate when it gets dark. :) Saw a very early on Viper RT/10 with original Jefferson County plates in front of Ocean in Cherry Creek, and downtown on 14th and Market, caught a lovely Esprit V8. Please excuse the truly awful photo, but there was little opportunity for a better one. Even though I've seen several, I wasn't really aware how crazy those Esprits look until tonight - especially with those wheels - they're really aggressive!

Let's see I saw a red Z8 yesterday up on I-25 by 104th, a tan colored 355 spider on Bowles by Ecostar yesterday, then today saw a red 430 spider and a blue 575 on I-25 by Park Meadows, a sliver Z8 in the Springs, and finally a white Countach with gold wheels by Bowles and Kipling.

On the way back from the springs I saw 2 F335 F1's on I25.

One was black and the other was yellow.

    Anyone know who they are?.

Boring day so far. Roush Mustang on 2nd and Steele, Prowler with dealer plates downtown, 996 Turbo S on 4th and St Paul. Otherwise nothing really, aside from a truly gorgeous M5 wearing M6 wheels - that's a conversion I hope more people take advantage of!

If it said Turbo S, it was just an extra badge. A real one would have PCCB's. Very nice car, regardless. Also noticed the smaller picture of the emblem.

I was traveling north on c-470 by towards bowles when I saw a silver Carrera GT going south. But heres the part that bugs me. We just left from Ken Caryl valley and the GT was turning into the valley. Just a couple days ago I saw a black Ford GT driving in the valley by south valley road. Why would these two cars be in Ken Caryl valley. I must know 'cause it's really bugging me that I missed the Porsche.

I've seen a silver Carrera GT (same one?) in the DTC area (Belleview and Yosemite, Cherry Hills owner maybe?) but that was a long time ago, at least a year, and it was a glimpse, one of those head-turning "did I really just see that car?" moments.

You're dead right - hadn't even noticed that - indeed, the badge shot is in the upper left; think he added it?

The two silver Carrera GTs registered in that area are UBERKAR and F2A-119. Both are spotted with regularity and are driven regularly. I believe F2A-119 is a Cherry Hills car (it's an Arapahoe County plate - that may be James' spot) while I've heard of a couple of UBERKAR spots on 470, which would take care of Mr Different's Ken Caryl car.

Okay - Continental GT at Cherry Creek Mall valet this afternoon, Elise in front of Gelato on 3rd and Detroit yesterday evening; Viper on Speer at about 12th in front of a construction site in a loading zone - sort of a weird place to spot one. Looked nice. Also a new S6 V10 on 2nd and Columbine at 7pm yesterday.

Looking like rain for the next couple days so I don't expect I'll see too much.
