I don't work anymore so I drive the Fcar to the gym and the Jag to the golf course and the F150 for weekends and snow plowing in the winter. Retired ! Enjoy the ride

Steve Wynn has a driver because he is going blind.

I know a guy who has a 599 as a daily driver. It's his first Ferrari. Already has 20K miles on it. How did he get hold of a hard to get 599? He paid $200K over list.

Ellisons bentley is nice though, and his many homes are really cool, he isnt a cheap man

Yes, it's all about what you are into. Let's see Bill Gates' home computer, I'm sure it's not a celery.

If someone dropped a billion dollars into my lap, I probably wouldn't drive on public roads anymore either. I'd want to be carted around in a limo everywhere. I would definitely still be into driving - at the track!

If I were wealthy I'd drive an F-25.

Just because they drive plain cars daily, doesn't mean they don't have some nice weekend drivers. A person I know with a number of Ferraris and some other nice cars usually drives a pickup or an Accord during the week. Also around here there are some massive houses that I'll drive by and look into their open garages and all they have are plain jane cars. I think they just aren't interested, instead they spend their $$$ on boats, snowmobiles, vacations, etc.

At this level, most people probably come to YOU. No need to drive most of the time.

For the record, Dennis Tito (who paid $20m to visit the international space station) gets driven around in a Maybach 62.

In the 90's, I lived very near Bill Gates. His daily driver was a Lexus. When construction ramped up on Bill's new home, I fled and became a very near neighbor of Paul Allen. Reports on this thread of Paul's "daily drivers" may be accurate, but I really enjoyed his Jet-Float plane the most. Larry Ellison's coolest ride - MIG! My daily driver - my feet. Apparently I need to downgrade my F250 to 1/2ton and drive it rather than walk to work to be really really rich :)

I was the OEM supplier of steering wheels for the Bricklin Auto in 1974 and 1975!

Malcom Bricklin brought in the Yugo after Bricklin failed.

For those who do not know, the Yugo was a Yugoslavian licensed and built Fiat 128!!!

I see lots of different patterns, and no real rhyme or reason to different definitions of "wealthy" (I think of "wealthy" as $1m/month income - I aint wealthy).

example 1: Ford Explorer, vacations in NZ every other month.
example 2: nondescript car - but a very nice boat
example 3: AM Vantage (did the Ferrari thing already), a very nice vintage plane, and a bunch of ex-wives to keep paying off
example 4: viper, and assortment of AM factory specials, plus 575M (haven't talked to him for a couple of years, so likely a 599 by now)
example 5: not into cars, but a large business jet
example 6: downgraded AMG65 to a 55 because the 12 was in the shop more often than not - owns huge amount of RE as diversification
example 7: MB 190, followed by Subaru SVT, plus architecture digest house (15 years ago, RIP)
example 8: Kia plus great RE and VC portfolio
example 9: 50+ cars, including 20+ Fcars - tried to get into this collection but no luck :(
example 10: boats and Intl property - I think it's Escalades when he's near home base. Mostly naked ladies for his hobby if I recall :)
example 11: our local $Billionaire, Jimmy Pattison, drives a white Cadillac (2003 data). Has a 150' yacht, but doesn't like boating: it's just a convenient place to do business. (net worth: $3+ B). Very conservative, staunch supporter of his church. Most valuable asset: a poem his Mom wrote out

all I can think off so far. Not many are into cars - my guess is they want reliable and simple: passions are elsewhere for hobbies. many work 120hr weeks and travel constantly, what use is a finicky car with that schedule!

Same thing with Ellison, 300 foot monsters, that cost 100's of millions, have helicopter landing pads, submarines on the bottom etc etc. Doesnt make sense to me how some rich rich rich rich people can be so cheap. I wish I had that problem :).

Consider this, Bill Gates could easily buy the Ferraris entire production line for the next 40 years. $250,000(average per car) x 5000(avg output)=1.25 billion. His wealth is estimated at 50 billion.
If I had money at that, I'd upgrade to Rossa :).

than they would'nt be vry vry wealthy anymore....Most of the time the people don't work for money....Do what you love and the money will come:cool:

We have a guy in Houston"Mattress Mac"that is worth between $230mm-$265mm depending on who is talking. He drives an old Toyota Tacoma truck and wears old tennis shoes that I would'nt wear in public.

    ....but several:)

And he is in the process of building the worlds largest peronally owned yacht(again). At one time he owned the largest yacht and someone built a bigger so he went back to the drawing board and started building his newest one.

You are correct, the list isn't accurate. Buffet auctioned off his Lincoln last year and now drives a Cadillac.
