Jackie Stewart has much to say about Lewis and every bit it so very true . . . Kimi needs to take lessons from this guy . . .most importantly is that he's in the factory every day (teamwork) . . .I read last year of Lewis being likened to Michael as he has the poise, charisma, professionalism and talent of MS.

On the pre-show Sunday, Peter Windsor talked about Lewis and how he and his wheel-chair bound brother share so much and it was so wonderful to see his brother being supported out of his chair to celebrate for Lewis and his dad is always most professional in his appearance.

Now, we just need to figure out how to get this guy out of Ron's domain and into a Ferrari.

The article on Autosport this morning sums it all up.....

Lewis Hamilton has been tipped to rewrite Formula One's history books judging by the form he has shown in his first four races.

That is the view of former world champion Jackie Stewart, who claims that Hamilton's speed and professionalism are going to mark him out as F1's benchmark driver over the next few years.

"Lewis is exceptional," Stewart told the British media. "The big success in life comes as much outside as inside the cockpit.

"You cannot make the other career work without being awfully good in the cockpit. Lewis already has that bit. He has the mind for it, the attitude, the God-given skill, but he is already recognising that he needs something else.

"That's why he is in the factory every day, that's why he is already more popular than many British drivers who have won world championships. And he is doing it with style and humility."

Stewart believes the approach that Hamilton has taken to F1 will have to be adopted by anyone wanting to follow in his footsteps.

"I think he is going to rewrite the book. We will see a new generation of what I call properly prepared professional racing drivers. I don't think there is one who is that.

"(Michael) Schumacher became that but I am talking about fully-rounded. Schumacher was not as good as he should have been, not in terms of the driving but the total package.

"I believe Lewis will create the new benchmark for a whole generation of drivers. Niki Lauda and James Hunt changed the culture of racing drivers. They were not role models.

"They said nothing, didn't give a damn. Lewis Hamilton can become the role model. Everybody needs one."

And Stewart believes that Hamilton's professionalism has put Kimi Raikkonen's more relaxed approach to the job in complete contrast.

"The way he lives his life is contrary to allowing him to put together the complete package, the kind that allowed Schumacher to win multiple championships, Senna and Prost, Jim Clark or even me. It is an attitude, a mentality, and a way of doing business. Our lifestyle, mind, make-up was different from a Raikkonen.

"That is why Hamilton has the opportunity to be dominant over time and Raikkonen doesn't, unless something substantial changes."

I agree, Hamilton is going to do amazing things over the next few years, he's already outshining Alonso. Hopefully the McMercs will become incredibly unreliable in a year or two and we can get him over in a red car.

Now are you still awake from Monday, or are you just waking up for Tuesday?

Actually I am running a tad late due to playing on the internet - waking up to feed horses, cows, dogs, cats then off to work - while school is in session I work 7 - 3:30. How about you? Have a great day!

    Check back in 5 years.

Alonso may be a richard noggin, but so far he has some things Lewis does not have: wins and WDC's.

Hamilton is great and will be the WDC one day. However, I still think Alonso will win WDC this year and maybe next...I hope anyway...

Alonso also is full of himself which Hamilon and Massa are not. I will also bet that Alonso never wins another WDC. He is very lucky to have won 2 years ago as the FIA interveened too strongly to shut down MS and Ferrrari thus giving renault all the tools to win. Everyone knows it but dosnt say much about it.

Lewis already wrote F1 history by what he accomplished so far.

He will go on to become a multiple WDC. The only question is will he get the title this year already? I hope not, but it is possible.

I doubt very much Ron Dennis has the kind of contract that would allow him to move to another team after investing so much in him since he was 11 years old - I would imagine he might become available at the age of 55!

Sometimes something is just so obvious that everyone can see it. I completely concur with what Jackie is saying. For him to be so wholeheartedly behind a driver says something, as he's been somewhat of a curmudgeon and thorn in the side of drivers recently.

It's so funny...most of us bemoaned the departure of Schumacher as the face of F1 and the lack of someone else to step up in that position.

    Little did we know...

I would like to see LH exercise some kind of long term loyalty to RD as that would add to the package; character.
That said if LH could not perform, RD would drop him like a hot potato.
RD does have a big commitment to FA, who IS #1 on the team, make no mistake.
What amazes me the most about LH is his results so far considering the experiance, talent, and favoritism offered to FA.
His racing style is agressive but "clean" so far.
    This in his rookie year.

That is pretty much true for any F1 team manager...unless that driver were managed by his son :p

    Excellent point.

We lost Senna and many thought it was the end of F1. Yet a German guy stepped into the void and went on to dominate. Now MS has left and the media are calling this the year 1 after MS' departure. Well, soon it will be known as the year 1 of the Hamilton decade. The torch of the super talents has been passed.

    :)

I agree that LH has done great so far, and his personality and work ethic certainly seem exemplary.

However, aren't we pretty much all guilty of annointing the next MS after a few races - Last year it was Nico, a few years ago it was Webber ("as soon as he gets a good seat") and so on.....

Rewriting the history books is going to take some doing - MS set the bar very, very high and I doubt anyone, ever, will duplicate his achievements.

    As usual, just my 02c,

    Cheers,
    Ian

If anyone presently on the grid can pass MS's record, LH gets my vote.
    This after 4 races.
Dont give up on Nico just yet.
Weve seen what he can do in a competitive car (engine).

Lewis definitely has talent, but can everybody please stop this Lewis-mania. Saying he's 'the best' and that he's 'even better than MS', etc... is absolute rubbish. The day he wins his 8th drivers title, his 92 Grand grand prix and 69th pole position, that will be the day he's the 'best ever'. So lets be realistic: after only his 4th grand prix, lets not jump to any conclusions. Hell, for all we know, he may be another Jacques Villeneuve: begins his career with a championship, and ends it in complete disgrace.
